Foles started out aggressive than went full ASS11. I hate to say it but I think Rerun was right and Reid totally neuters the QB regardless of who is behind center. Still like to see 1 more game where you dont finish with Hill/West/Harris/Wilson as your supporting cast.

He throws a better deep ball than Alex, but that's about it. Smith is better at everything else

rico 11-06-2016 03:10 PM

Man, I feel like if I bicker about this all week, I'll be using Nixcuses that are similar to Alexcuses.

BigCatDaddy 11-06-2016 03:16 PM

Agreed. Ive moved into the Foles and ASS11 arent great but Fat Andy is Marty 2.0 when it comes to being conservative.

At least Alex is accurate and doesn't make dumbass turnover prone decisions. I mean shit, I get that we want deep passes, but Foles is just stupid wreckless with his passes. He makes easy passes look way harder than they are and he doesn't know how to go to the checkdown when its time. He had a good pass to Wilson for the TD which is what Alex had last week with Maclin and Hill the week before. I'll take Alex.

RobBlake 11-06-2016 03:28 PM

no, Foles does not get a second shot "just cause" JFC.

DaneMcCloud 11-06-2016 03:29 PM

There's a reason why Nick Foles is a backup and not a starter.

Stop blaming Reid.

MMXcalibur 11-06-2016 03:29 PM

Alex Smith is the Chiefs' quarterback. Anybody thinking otherwise needs to watch this game again in full.

Spott 11-06-2016 03:30 PM

Everyone that was up Nick Foles' ass last week can suck it. I'm no Smith fan, but Foles should not be starting unless Smith gets hurt.

Beef Supreme 11-06-2016 03:32 PM

Looked almost exactly like an Alex Smith performance to me. And the stats probably back that up. And he just wins, amirite?

Andy wasn't even that conservative today.besides that one redzone trip. But I agree Andy is too in love with his cute sidline plays. And will be a good but not great coach til he trusts players more than his play calling.

When Andy is aggressive with his playcalling Alex is aggressive and we're a good offense. When he lets alex throw to/past the sticks and into the endzone Alex produces.

ChiefsLV 11-06-2016 03:40 PM

Difficult game to judge a QB on. No run game, offensive line allowing pressures. Starters missing left and right.

You can judge him on his accuracy despite all that. And missed two gimme TDs back to back weeks. Bad footwork leading to very inconsistent accuracy

Molitoth 11-06-2016 04:25 PM

Foles def did not impress today and for that I am saddened. However, I've seen Alex Smith play 234872083 quarters of football, and I can say that he most likely wouldn't have done any better. We've seen Alex play this exact "meh" kind of game many MANY times.

1.5 games is a small sample size... but you only get limited chances in the NFL, and Foles didn't take advantage.

Reerun_KC 11-06-2016 04:43 PM

Damn disappointed but not surprised he put up Smith numbers today. Nice game plan Andy.

stevieray 11-06-2016 04:46 PM

aawwww.

the bitter tears of fans who think their opinion is still smarter/bigger than the Chiefs.

Keep those excuses flying, you know, the same ones you won't benefit Smith.

Red Dawg 11-06-2016 04:51 PM

Foles is capable of stretching the field better than Smith. If they are almost the same player then I choose Foles. He actually threw a td today that was a big factor is us winning. Smith would not have even attempted that throw.

Dunerdr 11-06-2016 04:51 PM

I'll give Foles a pass he came up shy of smiths average 204 yards per game and .87 touchdowns without ware or Maclin. Looked similarly competent to smith against the garbage saints. Meh.

Proof positive you have no idea what you are watching. That was an easy throw and TD.

mcaj22 11-06-2016 04:54 PM

What Foles doesn't get a pass for playing without his 11 million dollar #1 WR and his 10 million dollar TE that got himself ejected? Also, missing the #1 RB.

Foles was throwing to literally bums out there today. Alex Smith would have absolutely gotten a free pass in this scenario. The ole "Alex needs more weapons" argument.

This wasn't a meh game. It was bad. Like i said in the other threads, our longest drive was 38 yards. The longest pass was a 24 yard screen. It was a BAD game.

A great QB elevates the players around him./CP

It works both ways dude. And Foles wasn't playing well before Kelce was ejected and wasn't looking at him. And he was missing passes to wide open receivers witch has 0 to do with who it was.

Like I said it works both ways.

I don't disagree it works both ways but I've seen this place literally poop its pants in Alex's defense the moment a Jamal Charles gets hurt in a playoff game, or Justin Houston blows his leg out, or Eric Berry misses a season. Instantly Alex gets a free pass when he's missing a good player on either side of the ball. Alex will be better when everyone gets healthy!

That's been the scapegoat here for 3 years.

Alex would have beat New England in the playoffs if he had a healthy Houston, and Charles, and Ware, and Maclin.

That same excuse is going to happen again in the playoffs this year, we will get in, some good player on this team will be hurt by then and when Alex gets beat by the Patriots again, it will be because he's missing _____ player.

Smith absolutely would have gotten those excuses from those that blindly support him and they would have been wrong. Just like it would be wrong to give Foles those excuses. Missing Maclin and Ware matter. I am not disregarding that. But he looked bad on his own.

By the way, Kelce was out for the last minute drive only, so we can cross that reason off the list.

I don't think there's any question on whether the team has the talent to do it it's just that pesky Any Given Sunday shit that stands in the way.

And, damn it, the scariest part is the biggest obstacle standing between us and a Lombardi Trophy is "Because Chiefs"...

I'm a streaky guy. I had a pretty good run of WRONG some years, back but I am currently on a pretty impressive win% of correctness.
I don't know how long that's going to last but I have a gut feeling that a first round pick is going to be spent on a quarterback either this offseason or the next
