Holy ****, I never thought I would hate Kirk Cameron.

But now I want him to die horribly.

One of if not the best movie I watched this year. Damn that was a great movie.

So many tears. So great.

My only drawback on Fury was I kept saying to myself 'Shane sure is Shaning it up.' But that's TWD and Jay's fault more than the movie.

Did anyone else get a distinct, almost purposeful Droog vibe towards the end of the scene in the frau's apartment?

-King- 12-06-2014 07:50 PM

Was Shia LeBouf crazy before fury? Maybe he got PTSD just by acting in the war movie.

Deberg_1990 12-07-2014 06:54 PM

Watched 'Boyhood' earlier today. The flick that was filmed over 12 years with the same child actors.

Great flick. Simple, beautiful. Quietly brilliant.

Baby Lee 12-07-2014 06:58 PM

Watched The Babadook.

Well made experience. Won't say much about it outside subsequent spoilers is anyone else wants to talk about it.

Smart and atmospheric.

I did, it was a different kind of horror, a manifestation of realistic dreary and irritating aspects of life just completely taking you down.

It walked the line well, I thought, of 'I know this looks crazy, but' and 'OK this actually is just plain crazy.'

Baby Lee 12-11-2014 04:26 PM

Watched Obvious Child. Worth a rental if you like Jenny Slate in general. Small film, decent roles. [Stereo]typical Brooklyn millennial angst stuff. David Cross has a small part that was unnecessary, but humorous. Don't believe the hype that it's world shaking or amazing though.

If I had to summarize it in a sentence, it'd be 'a supersized episode of Girls where the lead is actually attractive.'

Plot details spoilered

Spoiler!

Buehler445 12-12-2014 11:47 PM

I watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was pretty damned good.

There were a couple parts where the CGI was wonky on the apes, but overall it was pretty ****ing spectacular. The ape speech and transference of emotion was far better than any of the previous ones (RotPotA notwithstanding). The story seemed to fit pretty well too. It didn't feel forced and felt like they covered all the angles. And the ape fight scenes were pretty spectacular.

Overall a damned good movie.

thabear04 12-14-2014 12:55 AM

Welp - what? 15 years later I finally see 'The Hurricane' - very nice. Good flick.

I know - welcome to the modern world, right?

Just finished Dumb & Dumber To... was it as good as the first one, of course not and everyone expected that. But I still enjoyed every bit of it, they're still just as stupid as ever, it was two hours well spent as far as I'm concerned.

The only sad part is how old those guys are looking, a not so gentle reminder that I'm no spring chicken either.

thabear04 12-17-2014 11:32 AM

Watch Exodus: Gods and Kings last night it was pretty good.

Hammock Parties 12-17-2014 10:20 PM

Going on a Sir Ian McKellen film binge

On my to-watch list:

Apt Pupil
Gods and Monsters
Richard III

And really looking forward to these Mini-Series:

The Prisoner
Vicious (about a couple old gays o:-)

I would also like to see "Emile" but can't find a torrent.

Kevin Spacey made that movie for me. Sure it is not the best Superman Movie, but I enjoyed it, especially with Spacey chewing scenery throughout.

Finally got around to watching Days of Future Past.

Not bad.

chiefzilla1501 12-20-2014 10:39 AM

'Kill list.' You either like it or hate it. It was definitely interesting. But it's intense.

Just saw "Skeleton Twins" with Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig. An interesting watch if you like a good dark comedy.

I know this isn't a movie, but recommend also watching Black Mirror. Got a real modern twilight zone like twist to it.

Hammock Parties 12-20-2014 10:43 AM

Homesman with Tommy Lee Jones...a little weird, but good. Loved the scene where he burns the hotel down.

Comet with Emmy Rossum. It's a little odd too, but enjoyable.

By the way, everyone needs to watch the Hello Ladies miniseries and movie...it's all ****ing hilarious.

That movie is okay. The better movie, the movie it was based off of, is Paris Je' Taime. A few of them are romantic comedy cheesy. But some of the shorts are pretty damn powerful. They've got some incredibly directors in that movie too, including the Coen Brothers.

So my wife and I finally watched Gone Girl. Excellent. I needed more catharsis in the ending, but it was satisfying enough. Who knew the Blurred Lines girl could act? Those tits are immaculate. Everyone was very good in their roles. Even Tyler Perry.

-King- 12-22-2014 11:15 PM

Interstellar was good and interesting. Wasn't as mindblowing as some people made it out to be. But yeah, Christopher Nolan is GOAT.

Horrible Bosses 2 was good also. Really funny and it wasn't a disappointment as some comedy sequels have been lately.

Hammock Parties 12-23-2014 03:04 AM

Better Living Through Chemistry is LMAO and Olivia Wilde is hot as **** in it.

Mindblowing =//= brilliant.

I was using mindblowing as meaning hard to grasp story or complicated plot etc. It'snot really a movie that will keep me up thinking and trying to wrap my head around.

Exodus isn't biblically accurate (lol Egyptian archers) but man it is visually spectacular. FROGS ALL UP IN THIS BITCH. Loved it. Well worth my $6.50.

then i might like it. sort of ignorance is bliss thing. I've never read a single page of the bible, or spent a single day in church. They could have biblical characters riding around on Segways and I wouldn't question the authenticity of the film.

How To Lose Friends And Alienate People: My 3rd favorite Simon Pegg movie. Megan Fox is hot in it.

The Counselor: total shit but really interesting for the two decapitation scenes and just watching Michael Fassbender. Also really weird sex.

Third Person: Wonderful performances by Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde. Who is really hot. And shows her tits. Liam shows his tits, too.

Also rewatched Skyfall. It's one of my top 10 films now I think. Just a treasure. The cinematography is really what gets me.

You're Next was recommended to me as something different as a horror movie. It's not. Every trope, plot point and cliche you have seen in a previous horror movie, hell Home Alone, you have seen before. **** me, what a waste of time. 74% on RT blows my mind.

Hammock Parties 12-27-2014 05:38 PM

Saw the Interview last night and loved it. It's hilarious and they really rake NK and Kim Jong Un over the coals. Vicious, in fact.

Franco was a little over the top and I'm tired of Rogen playing the same character in every movie, but a solid B+. The guy who plays Kim Jong really nailed it.
