If you can't handle a FREELY ACCESSABLE entertainment website like ChiefsPlanet going down for a few hours or a day for server maintenance without losing your shit...I hate to break it to you, but that's a 'you problem'.

Maybe find a hobby? Or be with your family, God forbid?

I am NOT a HATER! I LOVE planned downtimes but, reality is reality. We are down supported versions of software, left late to optimize the database and we are NOT scoring with the search tool. I do not understand what is going on with our SQL as well as what the hell is going on with the SERVER! Will we post during the playoffs, YES! Will we be able to find that random opinion we posted 6 months ago? NO! THIS SUCKS!!

These days, the issues are usually caused by the server getting hammered by bots. We currently have around 32k "guests" on here to give you the idea. Every once in a while I go in and try and figure out a set of IPs to ban, but it's kind of like banning Clay's IP and assuming he'll never come back.

My theory is that everyone and their dog is out there training AIs on just about everything they can grab on the internet.

It could probably be solved by moving to different server infrastructure, but that's above my pay grade.
