Charley Casserly was just raving about how many issues the Chiefs offense presents on NFLN

@TerezPaylor Hearing from multiple folks around the league who are intrigued by what the Chiefs are building on offense with Pat, Kareem, Kelce, Ty and Sammy. "So nasty," one person said.

The only thing that will hold back this offense's potential with Mahomes is Andy Reid's playcalling.

Good luck with that.

As he should. on paper, it should be the best offense in the NFL.

Let's recap...

Veach either 1- Ate up most of the Chiefs' cap space (roughly around 26 m) with two signings (reported 25 m AAV) or 2- pushed a huge amount of money to the next two years for two guys, and is still likely paying 2/3 AAV this year (roughly 17 m). With such a huge chunk going to a WR and alot of worries still on D that you can't necessarily rely on 3rd round picks to fix, there is some room for concern.

I'm really not worried about cap. Despite concerns about our cap, we have plenty of cap flexibility. And veach can fix the defense by loading up on draft picks and second/third wave free agents. We don't have to dominate on D with the offense we have.

And we don't have to fix our D overnight. I want to be real excited about this teams potential, but let's be realistic. This is mahomes' first season and he's going to make mistakes.

Let's remember there are guys in the draft this year that are the same age as Watkins.

Same old mecca.

It's not debatable. Nobody, not even the fans on this site that don't like this signing, would argue it.

This offense will have no limitations, no achilles heel.

Teams want to stack 8 in the box to stop Hunt? Watch Mahomes rip you apart downfield.

Teams want to double team Kelce? No problem, watch Hill/Watkins shred your single coverage downfield.

Having a QB who will both look to go downfield and be able to convert on downfield passing opportunities consistently and having multiple WR threats downfield will be epic.

Free at last from the Alex Smith Iron Curtain of Bubble Screens.

$16m is a bit much. But they want to surround mahomes with talent so I'm good with it. Keep in mind this is a short term deal which are usually more expensive and Id rather have a short deal for a guy like Watson. If he's anything like what we has pre foot surgery, this is a steal. Watkins has much more upside than Robinson.

They have like $17 million in dead space coming off the books next year after all the cuts they've made this season. They can structure around that and still have room to sign more guys this year like Fuller.

We may not need OLB all that much.

Ya'll wanted to see Houston rush the passer. Score a billion points and let Houston pin his ears back because every down will be a passing down it sounds like

I’m telling y’all. Hitchens and Watkins’ 2017 cap numbers will probably combine for no more than $13M.

Ca$$hole could throw for 3k and 20 TD's with that talent...

Truth. Like the Colts prime offense days with Freeney and Mathis.
