I agree, adding Williams and McCoy dramatically improves the level of talent on each side of the line of scrimmage for the Seabags.

No real surprises for the folks in the war room in TN. We were hopeful to see players like Haden or D. Williams fall, yet one cannot bank on other GMs doing a real-life Pioli impression.
That said, this is a pick where need, value, and talent meet. The Titans select: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech |
The Texans are going to get bent over by these next three picks.

My order of the elite OTs:
Okung Campbell Williams Brown Davis Bulaga |

Give me a minute to get my pick together... |
Seattle stole Trent Williams and New York stole Brandon Graham before the 49ers could pick again in the 1st round. Williams would have slid in at the RT spot since Joe Staley is holding down the LT position right now. He's doing an adequate job....so I don't see him moving anywhere. There isn't a playmaker on offense that is worthy of this choice....so I'm making a bold move and probably one that will get unloaded on. The 49ers are lacking a big play safety that can make the QB pay for his mistakes. This player is young but he's a ballhawk.
The San Francisco 49ers select Earl Thomas, FS, University of Texas. The 49ers have now successfully pissed of the Seahawks and Texans. |
My final choice for the NYG came down to Graham and Thomas.

I was hoping that I could get Spiller, Mays or Trent Williams.....but nevermind on that one. Haden and Thomas make the 49ers defensive backfield a strength.

If I'd been able to land Haden, it would've been a HUGE 1st round. |

I honestly contemplated going Rolando McClain with this last pick as well. McClain and Willis would be beastly in the 3-4.....but that's pretty much overkill. |
