It’s the money. The Vikings can’t handle that bonus nor can we. His agent may be out shopping for deals to bring to the Vikings as part of a trade but there aren’t many teams that can handle his cap hit and justify giving value. If a deal hasn’t happened by now I think they’ll cut him. |

He’s trying to leverage it. |
I’m not trading anything significant for Hunter. I’m a big fan of his style of play, but we would be fools to trade for another guy with multiple injury concerns and committed to him for a few years.
I’d rather draft 2 DEs in this draft with quality at the position. |

Oh, and it was STUPID when we did it then. |

Well damn, if they cut him and we can get him without losing any of our draft picks, that’s a swing I’m willing to take.
How could you be in on Smith, Jones, Miller etc. but not Hunter, when all of those guys are older and had recent significant injuries? |

Yeah, whenever that bonus is due. Or they may look to ‘control the landing’ by trading him for a late pick just to dictate where he ends up. Which could be to our advantage. I think 30 for 46 will prove to be an overpay. That’s essentially a mid-3rd and I’m starting to think they won’t get that. |
