Watch Veach zig when everyone expects a zag and go get Myles Garrett or something to slot next to Chris Jones. Karlaftis, Omenihu, Jones, Garrett. I mean I think Reid/Mahomes/Kelce could figure out how to get to 20 in the playoffs. Thats all you would need.

Available remaining trade options:

Carolina Panthers (1-6) L4
Dionte Johnson (28)
2024 Cost: About $4M

Quote:

Typically teams don't trade for a veteran starter and then trade him away the same season, but the Carolina Panthers don't have Johnson under contract beyond 2024, and at age 28, with no clear quarterback plan in place, he's a questionable long-term fit. The former Pittsburgh Steelers standout still has plenty of downfield ability, however, and would seemingly make for a plug-and-play half-season rental in Kansas City.
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) W1
Christian Kirk (28)
2024 Cost: About $10M
2025 Cost: $16.5M

Quote:

It's unlikely the Jacksonville Jaguars want to forfeit any of their skill weapons while trying to salvage a boom-or-bust year for Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson, but Kirk has had curiously streaky usage two years after clearing 1,100 yards as the top target. His history working out of the slot suggests he'd be a perfect multipurpose option for Reid's offense, giving Kansas City a more sure-handed catch-and-run threat.
Tennessee Titans (1-5) L2
DeAndre Hopkins (32)
2024 Cost: About $5M
Quote:

Hopkins apparently has little desire to leave the Tennessee Titans, despite the team's rough start and murky quarterback situation. That doesn't mean he or the Titans couldn't be convinced to part ways. A reported target of the Chiefs before he signed with Tennessee in 2023, the former Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals star is aging and nicked up, but he could still offer top-level route-running in a secondary role.
New York Giants (2-5) L2
Darius Slayton (27)
2024 Cost: About $3M
Quote:

The sixth-year veteran has occasionally looked like a true No. 1, but the New York Giants offense is stuck in mud, with Daniel Jones flailing behind an embattled line. Besides, Malik Nabers is in tow as the future face of the receiving corps. A pending free agent, Slayton's field-stretching ability would surely be welcome in Kansas City, where he'd also get the best chance of his career at making a legitimate playoff run.

What the Chiefs are doing right now won't be maintained. This is not the same team as week 1 on offense. They need to improve the wr room.

Well being patient has potentially cost us. Now the Bucs are for sure in on a receiver and the Niners might be as well. Maybe if we wait another week we can get two more teams that decide they are just a receiver away from making some noise or find themselves in need.

I bet by Wednesday the Chiefs have a new WR

BossChief 10-21-2024 10:01 PM

If we could get Slayton and Johnson for a 3rd and 4th…or even both of our thirds (and that both players would agree to reasonable extensions) that would go a big way toward making this offense special this year and the next 2-3.

Well at some point if they get Pacheco back if you can keep Hunt fresh that's a real problem for teams. You gonna stack the box? Our WRs suck but we got the speed to beat you. You going to concede 4 or 5 yards a run? They'll slowly pick you apart while the defense holds you under 28.

I've been critical of Mahomes passing I don't think he's been great this year so far but an underrated part of his game and this offense is its ability to go 75 yards.

It's entirely possible Kelce turns it on late while Gray remains productive with a 2 headed monster at RB

I'd prefer we trade for a WR but I don't think this team is a poverty offense as it stands its proven the opposite

Garrett is one of my all-time favorite non-Chiefs. He would dominate outside for us. Don't know how we manage that cap, but it would be awesome.

Man, seems like I hear something similar year after year...

FloridaMan88 10-21-2024 10:04 PM

Trade(s) should be happening today.

Couch-Potato 10-21-2024 10:08 PM

Tyreek Hll
Cooper Kupp
Deebo Samuel
Diontae Johnson
Tee Higgins
Christian Kirk
Deandre Hopkins
Mike Williams
Darius Slayton
Adam Thielen
Demarcus Robinson

Anyone else?

Gravedigger 10-21-2024 10:10 PM

Tyreek has fallen off a cliff in Miami. Veach could totally make the case that Tua isn’t their future and they’re too far out of playoff contention. Bring Tyreek home again, he’ll renegotiate to get back with Patrick you know he will.

BossChief 10-21-2024 10:10 PM

I wonder if we could get Ojulari and Slayton from NY.

Deebo has pneumonia and I think in the hospital. I don't think he's going to be back for a while.

I’d love to have Tyreek back to help us make history…but it’s not going to happen unless Miami drops the next 2 and KC overpays.

They just gave him a big $ extension with a lot of cash. They just extended the coach.

Having the owner write those checks and then for the team to trade away Hill and eat all that $ they are least gave him would be career suicide.
