What same bullshit? Smith regularly throws for 65%+ of his passes. He's the "checkdown master" so he would have seen many of the underneath stuff Foles missed. As of late he has been more aggressive throwing downfield. He avoids mistakes that Foles was lucky to get away with today. He's mobile and would have either got first downs with his feet or extended plays instead of being a sitting duck in the pocket.

Anything there that's an excuse?

Everyone is taking hard and fast sides, the truth is somewhere in the middle IMO

Cant we just be thankful for the win?

Foles fans can take solace that he did some nice things and led us to a win

Smith fans can take heart because he'll be back next week

Roger Roger.

Wait?!?

You mean receivers are responsible for completed passes as well?

When did this start because it certainly didn't apply to any of the dropped Smith's passes.

No weapons. Stats don't matter...it's all about wins. We win the game and here comes the garbage "Bortles outplayed Foles" comments. Want to guess how many QBs have outplayed Smith over the years?

The difference being that the Foles circlejerk was predicated on Foles would be better.

He wasn't by any metric.

Only thing I have to say about Bortles is that his receivers don't do him any favors.

That one guy made no effort to catch a ball that was completely catchable.

Glad Chiefs won.

I'm not sold on Foles but he is a backup for a reason did just good enough with excuses that he was missing several starters on offense but I think he could have done better and we wouldn't have given the Jags an opportunity to win.

I've never used the "it's all about wins" shit so I don't know why you're using it with me. Smith is just better and more consistent. Weapons or no weapons he hits the underneath plays which were open today. He would have played better than Foles today. His mobility and ability to hit checkdowns tells me so. It's not like Foles was just killing it downfield or anything Smith can't do. He was bad pretty much all around.

Longest drive: 38 yards
1-14 on 3rd down

That's BAD

Had two passes that really should have been INT'd, so he could have been worse.. but yeah, he looked like a rusty backup, and he had enough moments to keep that QB2 job.
