He had multiple off-the-field incidents and was asked point blank about this situation and lied. Directly. And even since then, he's had other issues.

This is an awful take.

Agreed... I'm looking for that scene in Aliens where Hicks says: "He's gone, forget about him..."

siberian khatru 01-10-2021 08:32 PM

And look at him now. This is what happens when you say "**** second chances"

The thing with Hunt nobody ever considers is if nothing bad ever happened, he'd be in the last year of his contract here and probably be considered a top 5 RB in the league.

If you're going to deal in hypothetical timelines, it's also possible we'd have to give him a Cook/Kamara type deal by this point... which probably costs us someone like Jones or Mathieu. It's not like things would have played out the exact same way and we're just adding Hunt on top of it.

There are plenty of people who don't need to be reminded every time he resurfaces with a good game or good play why it was a mistake to release him in the way that we did.

And yet, here you are, doing just that. The guy has had multiple miscues off the field. Not one. Not two.

Get over him. He's gone. Go cry into a pillow.

I agree completely. We didnt let him go because he wasnt talented on the field. He just had major problems off of the field. (which continued in Cleveland) In my opinion - Releasing him was the right thing to do. My only beef was the way the NFL let a team immediately pick him up (and gave the Chiefs no retribution)
