The Big Not-12 is not as competitive as the SEC from top to bottom. Sorry, but they just aren't. And never mind that there are only 9 teams in the Big XII (?) compared to 14 in the SEC. The numbers alone work against you.

Can't wait to hear your "Vanderbilt? Please!" retort.

No reason to admit that...
It has been a step up in competition.

Yeah, but there's a couple of bad teams, so it's top heavy...

huh?

I haven't kept track of the $EC this year at all. Between the Royals, TCU, and the unexpected Chiefs performances, I've had little time for college football.

Most years the $EC is extremely top heavy. I haven't kept track of them at all this year.

But Bambi and Prison bitch are stupid as ****. There is no debate as to whether the $EC is a better conference than the Big 12.

11 of the Top 30 teams in the country. Over 30%.

vs

5 of the Top 30. Over 16%

Which one is the better competition? Which one is Top Heavy?

Hmmmmm.....

You're the TCU Chancellor and AD all in one.

SEC offers. Do you accept?

Saul Good 11-11-2014 12:05 PM

Of course Sagarin is a joke, though.

Here are every win this season by his 6th ranked team.

Tulsa
Texas
Iowa State
Tennessee
West Virginia
Louisiana Tech

That's it. Two mid majors...two major conference teams without a conference victory...two teams that will barely be bowl eligible if at all.

The SEC West is better than the Big 12.

But when you factor in the teams from the SEC East it becomes worse.

Probably not, but I would think long and hard about it.

TCU is extremely small for a D1 school (8k undergrad enrollment and about 4k grad enrollment). It would be hard for TCU to put up a consistently competitive program in the $EC.

Academics are also pretty big to a good portion of our boosters so $EC membership becomes a tough sell to them.

But, I could be swayed.

Hmmmmm.....

Fourty percent of the Big 12 teams could replace Vanderbilt and still be easily the lowest ranked team in the SEC per Sagarin.

Meat grinder that Big 12...

Overall the conference is still better than the Big 12.

Big 12 teams in the top 30: 4
Big 12 teams outside the top 50: 4

SEC East teams in the top 30: 4
SEC East teams outside the top 50: 1

Of course. The East makes it much worse but the West has 2 teams ranked slightly above 2 in the Big 12.

Nothing in the SEC East compares to the Big 12.

Just look at the rankings.
