Even if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, 9-10 months from now we will be right back to the media talking shit about the Chiefs just like they've done this entire season (and last year for that matter).

For many yes. But there are enough people that will be smart enough to finally stop the nonsense to notice a difference.

Yeah. Never mind that each of the Bills' last two wins against the Chiefs have been ones with significant penalty decisisions that went the Bills' way (the Toney offsides negating a TD; the Bills' offensive PI being allowed to go and lead to a wide, wide, wide open TD).

Not one holding call on Buffalo's OL the entire game last time, even though they were grabbing the hell out of Chris Jones on most plays. Chiefs OL got called for holding to kill a drive in the 2nd half. There was a DPI on Chiefs as well to extend a Buffalo drive on 3rd down that led to a touchdown.

Yes some teams are better at it than normal but having an extremely high or extremely low total is LUCK.

Yup after I dug into this more and see all the fool's gold in their turnover ratio, I'm leaning the same way. I put my money where my mouth is, so I was at least that confident.

Last year he said Mahomes could not handle the fans/environment at Buffalo's stadium. Very stupid comment based on how Mahomes has performed in a lot of hostile stadiums around the NFL.

Dawkins, Milano and Rapp are more important for Bills. I would think Dawkins gets enough IV in time to play, Milano I heard was simple some calf muscle tightness most likely plays too, Rapp is good but fragile so I think he won't play. The rookie Bishop will take his place starting, which is a big drop off for them. Really hasn't shown much so far.

I’m ****ing ready for Sunday.

It’s been a long season to get to this point where it feels like the games actually matter.

When you’ve had as much success as we’ve had it’s hard to get the juices flowing for a game anymore.

This one is finally doing it for me. Even last week, it was one of those deals where it felt like a foregone conclusion going into it. A win was expected and a loss would’ve been a disaster.

This is a toss up, legacy game against a worthy opponent that could go either way, with another trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Finally, here we ****ing go. Can’t ****ing wait.

I was nervous for sure.

What separates this week from last week to me though is last week, there just wasn’t a whole lot of satisfaction from winning, other than advancing in the playoffs of course.

It was against an inferior opponent where a win was more of a relief than pure excitement.

This game a win will feel much different. The outcome feels much more in doubt and a win is going to feel ****ing sweet if we pull it off. Such another huge legacy opportunity for the guys.

I live for games like these. Gets me so pumped.

Expound.

I've said Trey Smith has struggled against Oliver and that's likely to be the key matchup. He undeniably has.

I also said that it doesn't matter who we play at LT.

I believe that's about all I've said on the OL.

I don't think it will decide this game. I mean if we lose, the OL is who people will blame, but it all comes down to Pat being Pat.

The OL hasn't been at the front of my mind at all.

And it damn sure wasn't any sort of concern when we played the scrub-ass Texans. And again, I've said for two weeks that I wanted Buffalo to come out of that Ravens game because I think we're simply a better team than they are.

comochiefsfan 01-22-2025 07:34 PM

This might be the sorta game it takes to bring it out these days. He’s seen it all so it probably takes a game like this to get him really fired up. This is to pass Montana all time for #2 in playoff wins too. Patrick knows this is a legacy/lore game that careers are born from, and I expect him to play accordingly.

Met and spoke to a guy today who has met, played golf with, and hung around Michael Jordan.

And he’s telling me stories about Michael, specifically how competitive he was in everything he did.

Then it clicked that this guy was talking about Mahomes too — he didn’t hear it that way, but I did. And that’s when I knew that this Sunday would be a huge chapter - huge chunk, of a kickass Mahomes documentary in the not-so-distant future.

Hopefully the Mahomes documentary covers Mahomes referencing The Last Dance...

Yeah this is where I'm at as well. Mahomes knows a three peat cements this team as the greatest dynasty ever. That is a card Brady cant play. 4 SB titles before his 30th birthday. Just legendary stuff. I think we are gonna see an over my dead body performance from Patrick.

Not even slightly accurate.

A) I barely posted at all in the Humphries thread in the week leading up to the game and

B) I specifically stated that if we played Houston it wouldn't matter who we started because we would wreck the Texans.

You're just making shit up, fella.

The more I hear every ****ing person and media member, talk nonstop about KC/penalties/flopping, I’m starting to worry the refs might overcompensate and screw us. It’s the only thing anyone is talking about leading up to the AFCCG. Hope I’m wrong, as usual though.

Stryker 01-22-2025 09:04 PM

Um, put me in the NOT ****ING WORRIED category. 3 PEAT is inevitable - count on it! WE ARE CHIEFS KINGDOM! Those with "concern" please step aside and DO NOT come out after the fact with this knew it all along attitude - that is NOT welcomed here. YOU BELIEVE OR YOU DO NOT - there is no middle ground here. LET'S FREAKING GEAUX!!! :thumb: 3 PEAT OR BUST! :thumb:

Oh, did I forget to mention, DYNASTY! NFL HISTORY! ALL IN! :thumb:

14 points for Kansas City — BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Chiefspants 01-22-2025 09:19 PM

I’m just imagining Andy’s untethered rage if any player spoke about an opponent to the press like that before a regular season game, much less the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP.

How he kept the muzzle on Tyreek for all those years is a goddamn miracle.

Rainbarrel 01-22-2025 09:27 PM

Justin Reid did it, once. I think he apologized in some form

Ask Justin Reid. Wasn't the AFCCG, but he has an idea.

Khalen Saunders has said on Twitter that the angriest he ever saw Reid was when a Chiefs player gave opponent’s free locker room material.

Pretty sure that's what he was referring to. Think it was against the Bengals.

BlackOp 01-22-2025 09:41 PM

I think the recent Pittsburgh game was the closest performance to what KC is going to look like...it was a tune up.

I dont think that the WRs having 0 catches outside of Worthy was an accident...I think they played it close to vest..to a degree, against Houston. They had just faced them a few games ago...why show cards you dont have to?

Nobody knows what this offense looks like, at this point, with Brown back in the mix...so how do you design a defensive scheme against it?

It'll be interesting if KC lights it up on Sunday...or is still the prodding under-30 point team we've been watching.
