He’s the “in shape Todd Haley coached” Dwayne Bowe. Right down to the physicalness, focus drops, strong RAC and willingness to go over the middle. He’s Dwayne Bowe as a better route runner.

Dhop had a perfect season. 105-for-105. |
He doesn't remind me of DBowe at all. Whoever said Aiyuk nailed it. Aiyuk had a 1000 yards and 8 touchdowns last season and that would be absolutely great.

Doesn’t even sound like something Andy would say. He never speaks in absolutes, which is why you know that shit is fake.

I mean it wouldn't be any less believable if it said "I'd let Rashee Rice **** my wife..." C'mon folks - Reid has never been that effusive in his praise of Patrick Mahomes. He's not gonna go giving a rookie receiver a hand-job. |
|
If they were going to make up a fake quote by Reid, they should have gone all out.
"Mannn, by week 4 when you assholes are talking about who is the best wide receiver with the last name of Rice, y'all are going to say, "It's that mutha****a Rashee." Jerry who? Any of you want to disagree with that, I'll see your ass at the George Brett statue that Sherman just moved to 10th and Holmes. Bring a HiBoy Cheeseburger with you. Reid out!" - Andy Reid addressing the media after the August 24th practice. |
So people just make up shit on the internet? Who knew?

If neither Moore or Rice show anything then that will be the judgment. |
I mean....
The good news is that they look like concentration drops, which is 100% coachable. If he can get passed that, I'm sure he'll be fine. But right now.... :( |

He's been about as bad as you can be today.
That early drop got in his head and it's been downhill since. I don't think he's caught a pass and I think he's dropped, what, 4? I'm not sure I've EVER seen a ratio that bad. Pretty pretty awful... |
The Mecole pick was always puzzling with DK, McLaurin, and Diontae Johnson all on the board.
Sky Moore had a rough rookie year and Rice has been...not great. But again, we'll know soon when the real football starts. |
Quote:
|
The good news? Rice has to be open to drop a wide open pass so...he gets open a lot.
|
Quote:
But yea, very rough day for the rookie. |
It was four if you count that extra points play. But they didn't show a replay so I don't know if it was batted down
|

It obviously got into his head. I’m not burying a rookie based on one shitty preseason outing. Drops have been a slight issue in his career but not a real problem.

Christian Watson struggled with drops in college even more than Rice. Then he had some really bad drops early in his rookie season.
Then he ****ing exploded. |
Quote:

LMAO Jesus, can we give the poor kid a bit more rope than one bad game? Especially given his performance last week, he's earned a bit more leeway than that.

Christian Watson is an insane athlete. I heard in the draft buildup that he was easily bumped off his routes. Welp, that isn't a problem anymore.

lmao Skyy Moore is known for catching foh

The drop was truly ****ing maddening. Staggeringly bad.
Hopefully it scares the piss out of him and forces him to concentrate more. Use it as a learning experience. |
Quote:

Honestly, it's pretty ****ing obvious that if the drops get cleaned up, he's going to be really ****ing good.
I'll take that bet. |

How many drops or what was his drop rate in college?

Give the man some time.

He’s pretty awesome post-catch. We’ll have some fun screens drawn up for him this year.
|
Drops of frustrating but he's not the first WR to have the drops in preseason and turn out well. Let's see what happens.

The drops are infuriating, but the guy has the potential to be a yac monster in this offense.
|
More positives are that Rice doesn't need to produce right away.
Hes probably gonna be in the WR5-7 range. There's plenty of time to fix the drop issue. |
When he DOES catch them, he looks just like you'd want him to... they'll get him ironed out
|
After watching all his plays, I think people are going way overboard. Only one was an egregious drop. The first was catchable but looked like it wasn’t placed that well. Hard to tell from the angle. The 2nd was a short dart that he just wasn’t ready for. The third was terrible. Wide open and it should’ve been a TD.
He’s obviously talented enough that you can live with the occasional drop. It wasn’t a huge issue in college, so it probably won’t be in the NFL. Rice is known for routinely making otherworldly catches. |
"While Rice makes otherworldly catches look easy, drops have been problematic at times."
"Top Reasons For Concern: Developing consistency with drops" |
Meh, Dwayne Bowe had a lot of awful drops too
But he always more than made up for it |
I hope he turns out just like a former receiver named Rice that had issues with drops in his rookie season.
|
Mahomes will fix him.

I don’t think Mahomes would have lobbied for him if he were dropping every other pass. |
It looked to me that his drops were due to wanting those yac as much as anything. Some have been tough catches, but ones that a WR in the NFL should be making. Plenty of potential there, he just needs to concentrate on his fundamentals a little more. Secure the catch and THEN run.

He had a few drops and everyone freaks out.
He played flat. It happens. This dude is going to be a stud |
Jerry Rice had the drops his rookie year. Just sayin'.
