Once again, **** Indy, and specifically Lucas Oil and their shitty deathtrap of a field.

Even Colts fans acknowledge the rash of injuries that happen there.

If you think things are crazy here re: Alex and Foles, it's comical if you check out the Colts message board, where numerous posters are whining about Luck and calling for him to be benched.

Even if it leads to opposing teams scoring more points than the Chiefs ?

I don't think that'll happen honestly. But I'd rather go down swinging than lose again with Smith. I think the ceiling is higher with Foles because of his big arm. I'm ok with rolling with Smith, however, because he's shown the ability to play bigger in playoff games and at times with key players hurt and out.

We passed at a chance at Tom Brady?

We better fire every scout, coach, and owner that made that decision.

It's just ridiculous that the Alex homers scream 'FANTASY FOOTBALL' when one brings up yards or touchdown statistics.

There's a couple of things at play here.

1.

person a) CHIEFS WIN!!!!
person b) uhm, yeah, uh well, Smith only had 230 yds passing and one TD.

person a) thinks/says : well goddammm.. isn't winning good? not enough?

2.

person b) nots enuff deap passess!

You do realize that, even for Tom Brady, perhaps the best QB in the history of the earth, ultimate success rested more on total team competence than 'fantasy football' passing stats? MoF, the more 'Alex-esque' Brady was early in his career, the further his team went towards the ultimate prize.

I'm sensing a bit of moving goalpost on what we want out of Alex lately as well.

For the longest it was 'I understand Andy's philosophy, Alex doesn' have to chuck it all the time. I just want to be reassured he's CAPABLE.'

Then as soon as he demonstrates he's capable, it's 'where's this kind of output week in, week out. Is he declining? Has he lost is SINCE LAST EFFING WEEK/MONTH? Moar moar MOAR!!!'

Outside a rough patch against a pumped Texans team and a SUPER pumped Steelers team, both early and on the road. We've had a pretty pedestrian stroll this season. Games haven't been super tight. Andy's noticeably put the brakes on playcalling to preserve large leads numerous times. The one time we needed and had a chance at a big comeback, Alex put on ONE **** of a show against the Chargers.

Now we're battling injuries and getting back [or dealing with the loss of] historically superstars for us, as opposed to superior teams.

So what is it, what are we looking for?

230 yds and a td isn't enough to beat Pitt or NE.

Paul Posluszny is having a really good year and I can see them switching Ramsey over to Kelce pretty easy.

There is a lot of "trap game" about this one IMO.

On the road...maybe. KC's defense is too good....and first place is on the line. They arent ignoring this game at all....if anything, having Ware and Smith out...has everyone's attention.

I'd agree it seems trappy, but with so many injuries and Foles starting, does the " rally 'round the backups" aspect cancel out the trap game element?

Have you recently checked NFL team win loss records and the interceptions thrown by their starting quarterbacks in 2016?

Amazingly enough, it does happen. Honestly.

Whattttt? Peyton Manning threw for 176 yards and 2 td's to beat them last year. And the year before that, Joe Flacco threw for almost 300 yards and 2 td's, yet lost. Sooo, which is it? All about the QB or more so about the gameplan and entire team when it comes to the playoffs?

Reid will have this team heavily focused because of the injuries. Got to keep pace with Denver and Oakland.

We don't have an elite defense like Denver did last year. When will people figure this out?

Btw, Joe Flacco threw for 287, 3 tds and put up 27 points to win the Super Bowl.

He was also the Super Bowl MVP.

NE might be the ONLY team among the 32 that fits your ideal situation.. and even they have had one loss (one less than us), and two other games that they won by one score or less.

Was there some other team of the 32 that better fits your criteria?

Some people around here would refuse to use Bo Jackson if they were playing Techmo Bowl because getting him the ball isn't going deep enough, and afraid to screw up your average yards per attempt stats.

Tides come in, tides go out...

I bottles the mind.

Smith is our QB and that is reality. No matter what happens this weekend. This TEAM is 5-2 and looking good going forward. Smith is not the reason we are 5-2. The TEAM is the reason. Smith is part of the TEAM. Chiefs are winning as a TEAM. They are not winning on one facet alone. They are not winning because of Smith. They are not winning because of the defense. They are not winning because of the running game. They are not winning because of special teams. They are winning because of all of it. AKA: TEAM.

Personally, with the reception rules being so wide open, I don't see the risk/reward of the "deep ball" as that good anymore. Pray for a penalty I suppose. This TEAM is more precise that that.

eDave out.

Word. I rewatched the Pitt game the other day (Even if you believe I strictly wear Alex Smith homer glasses) but that was just a sloppy job on all parts of our team. DL was getting zero pressure, DB's were getting burned. Leveon Bell was gashing our linebackers. Receivers were missing routine catches. Smith started the game poorly and so did Ware. Once you spot a team like Pitt 3 scores, it's over unless your defense can offset the turnover differential and you play a perfect game for the remaining 35 minutes.

Team effort. They have to grow as a team if they're going to be successful...just like the year we mauled the Pats and they went on to win the Lombardi.

Last year the chiefs matched up or was better in damn near every phase of the game on defense. And that was without Justin Houston for 5 weeks in the regular season. And then without a truly injury free Houston in the playoffs we lost by 7 in new england. That's something you can't ignore. We all know what kind of player Houston is.

People who say I don't know shit about football I invite them to read this thread where 3 weeks into the 2015 NFL season I was warning that the Broncos defense under Kubiak's guidance looked elite and even with a washed up Manning, were dangerous. Again, I was laughed at, ridiculed, and accused of being BlackBob. I sure as hell didn't budge. Unlike those who gave up on the team last season at 1-5, I was on here getting so much shit for saying that we were the best of the "bad" teams at the time and to let things play out rather than benching Smith and firing Reid.

I get a lot of hate for being very firm about opinions and realize many get upset that I don't succumb to peer pressure. Not sure why an avid Chiefs fan who believes in the regime should be compared to someone who is unreasonably skeptical and wishes harm on its players.

One year here or there, sure.. that can happen, and might not be a good indicator of the QB. Smith has been a top winner over the steady course of 4 years now. Probably time to stop crying "fluke" and just accept that the dude knows how to play within a scheme to win.

I'm sure you got the point, and are simply deflecting away from it. Chicken.

Disdain, no. Not at all. But you are definitely willing to make jokes about most players on the roster.

"Nice going, Travis. See what happens when you don't drop it, butterfingers?"

"Wow, Peters. How about you get toasted some more?"

"What would we ever do without Jamaal Charles and his 1-yard carries?"

And I have yet to ever see you joke in the same way about Alex Smith. Sure, you give him the occasional criticism, but you don't make cracks. He receives special treatment constantly when he's far from the best player on the roster.

It looks like he's running with the narrative. I mean, call me ugly and I won't believe you. The whole site does it every day for months and when someone says "but ugly is allowed here" of course I'm going to respond. He doesn't post like blackbob. He just doesn't.

He's done it since his beginning here.

Dude he talks about what people said to bob way before tiger ever got here.

He's gotten better at hiding it I agree, he's made me doubt my self when he first got here, but it's him.

Ffs! We don't need a bunch of hall monitors. If you see something that is a problem, alert a mod, and move on. Let them do their thankless job and put the silly HS drama to bed.

JFC

Now the stupid shit has move to another ****ing thread.

No I really want to read your take on what they'd say. So answer it. Fallopian fungus.

That's something I can give him credit for. Timbone seems to have a good head on his shoulders also regarding the matter.

I remember reading a couple pages of bb's posts when a member accused me of being him over a year ago. I find the association insulting..

That no matter how much you claim Chiefs fandom, you're still an Alex fan first to a large degree. Which is fine. It takes time for romance to develop. I'm pulling for you.
