I am claiming that Haley was a flawed coach who was made to look a lot worse because of horrible front office decisions by Pioli.

Oh well, I completely agree. Can't believe some people are still rockin' the Pioli glasses. Dude is a joke. This is by far the worst offseason's I've seen in a long time.

I have apologized already but will again. I thought Pioli was a great hire and was willing to give him 100% support and the benefit of the doubt.

So I apologize to my draftabulator friends OTW, Hamas, Deez, Mecca, DJ, Reaper and Dane. You were right I was wrong.

But I will say in my defense I didn't realize on top of Pioli sucking that we were going to have by far the worst owner in the NFL. Clark has been a major disappointment, more so than Pioli.

There isn't exactly a lot of evidence that suggests we're really going to improve our team for this upcoming season which is the opposite of what needed to happen.

The team has glaring holes at QB, OL, NT, and depth at every other position.

Pioli is not going to address any of those unless they are old, washed up, or less than average guys who fit this magical "patriot way" schema.

IMO the season was DOA when the FO didn't outright say "We need to improve at many positions, namely quarterback, and we're going to do that in this season's free agency and draft."

They couldn't deal for RG3, evidence suggests they haven't done more than make a cursory offer to Peyton Manning, it's not in Pioli's MO to make a high profile signing for the OL/DL...

He's going to ride that 7 to 9 win Cassel train as long as Clark lets him, which I think will be the next two seasons. Maybe three if they luck into a playoff berth this season.

But honestly I'm looking forward to the next rebuilding cycle in 2015; maybe then we won't get an egotistical **** who thinks he can build a franchise around a diffident 7th round noodle arm.

Outside of QB, this has nothing to do with Pioli. This is squarely on the talented players playing like shit, and a soft coach not properly preparing his team for the regular season.

That's an understatement.

"Those people" thought this was a Top 5 defense.

"Those people" thought this was a Super Bowl caliber roster, minus the QB.

More recently, "those people" weren't worried about Buffalo's running game. And used Hali and Flowers being out for getting gutted last week.

I wonder what excuses "those people" will use this week?

Disagree.

The D-line got its shit pushed in, and Jackson was culprit #1; he is complete and utter shit.

I've never seen fans more strongly overstate the worth of a mediocre (at best) GM.

granitestatah 10-18-2012 08:19 AM

The thing with Pioli and the abject awfulness of his "reign" in Kansas City is that you have to make it a referendum on all of his failures of leadership.

If you just make it about one tragic mistake (Cassel) or another (TyJax) you allow him a possible "the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit" moment.

So please allow a transplanted Chiefs fan the indulgence on just one more anti-Pioli diatribe-

If you make it about

(1) his steadfast refusal to accept the fact that you need a franchise quarterback as the foundation of your team to succeed in the modern framework of the NFL. This is evidenced by his subjecting Chiefs fans to four years of the Matt Cassel Experiment and drafting one QB, a 5th rounder at that, to develop as the QBOTF.

(2) his terrible personnel decision in the draft and Free Agency (TyJax, Baldwin, McCluster, Arenas, etc) Where even his "successes" are somewhat tainted; Moeaki has looked terrible this year and was drafted over Jimmy Graham, Berry had a promising rookie season but has been horrendous this year coming back from injury and even when healthy hasn't performed at the level of his draftmate Earl Thomas.

(3) His history of hiring trainwrecks as Head Coaches. The Todd Haley mistake was a black eye on this franchise and made us the laughing stock of the NFL. RAC is currently running the worst team in the NFL out there and dropping Buddy Bellesque lines about how to fix his teams performance.

(4) his unassailable ability to alienate the fanbase and cohorts at every opportunity. This is evidenced by the Kent Babb article, his refusal to be held accountable publicly and not making a public comment, including during his media tour de force, supporting the fanbase post the Eric Winston debacle.

(5) the absymal track record of Patriot castoffs (see; Mangini, Eric, Weiss, Charlie, RAC, McRoberts, Josh)

(6) and pure and simple his Win and Loss record and current trajectory of this franchise. Even facebook stock looks like a winner in comparison to this franchise.

In law enforcement circles they use the term "articulable facts" that lead to the "totality of the circumstances". Well the "totality of the circumstances" suggest that EGOli is a failure of Gigli proportions.

I think at the time we were to elated and gimping over the fireing of Carl Peterson. All we could see was greener pastures ahead didn't matter who Clark hired we were going jump on the bandwaggon.

I wasn't happy about the Cassel trade but thought he was going be a stop gap untill Pioli could dig one out of the draft as one of the bill of sales on Pioli drafts is that he drafts QBs every year. Welll that sure the hell hasn't been the case. **** you Scott Pioli Mother **** you. According to 810, when the Chiefs played in PITTS, Pioli was tracking who was interacting with Haley before the game.

Didn't offer many specifics, but, if true, this is in step with everything we've learned about Pioli and his pettiness.

Or it could just be that he's that deranged.
