Funny, Kareem Hunt had more than 1,300 his rookie season and was headed for well over 1,000 yards when he was dismissed in 2018.

If the Chiefs had a Kareem Hunt type player last season, they not only would have won more games but they most likely would have had a healthier Patrick Mahomes all season.

A lot of people have IOL high on our list of needs simple because they want to keep Mahomes healthy.

Would a RB that could close out games not also help keep Mahomes healthy? The more he drops back to pass, the higher the risk that he gets hurt, regardless of how good our OL is.

I want Mahomes throwing most of the time, but it would be nice to have a stud RB for him to hand off to and help close games while helping keep him healthy.

Kareem was that guy on this team before he was released, so that's bullshit.

You mean when Alex Smith was our starting QB and Mahomes rookie season. Not that way anymore.

The Chiefs weren't a "running team" in 2019 because they had shit at the position.

Until last season, Andy Reid has always had a strong running game to compliment his passing game.

The truth is, most of the leagues best backs come in rounds 1-3.

Who was the last super bowl winning team that had a stud running back? Seahawks with Marshawn Lynch?

And he was also a third or fourth round pick

He was a third round pick.

How do you not know this?

Correct?

One could make the argument that WR is also a pretty big need.

Watkins and Robinson are gone after this year.

Also, could you imagine adding a top flight WR in the first or second?

If the right guy falls, the offense becomes totally unstoppable.

Usually I’d say it would be a waste, but with Mahomes and the way we’re likely losing Watkins and Robinson after this year, that kinda pick would be exciting.

I've said this before and probably even in this thread but man, I'd really hate to see the Chiefs pass on a WR in this draft like they did in 2014.

Ugh.

Im not opposed to drafting a RB early but I stand that the CB and LB and arguably IOL positions are bigger needs. While I would be surprised to see Veach draft a RB in the 1st round I don't think it is completely out of question.

The Chiefs RB group is a bottom 10 at best group in the league but then you have the best QB on the league, a top 2 TE, a top group of WRs and an average OL. It would be nice to add a great RB prospect but you don't absolutely need it to be again the top offense in the league.

I said he was third or fourth. I was right. I don’t have every player we’ve drafted round and pick memorized. Especially idiots who can’t stay out of trouble

Wow, this makes me feel SO much better knowing that you're not opposed to it.

Whew!

I don’t think they pass, but I also don’t think they take one until the 4th/5th.
