No. Peralta would have been dead to rights with your best hitter coming up. The mistake was in having Yadi bunt. You don't give up an out there. And Carpenter had a flat pitch, but missed it.

Managerial incompetence both hurt and helped, and missed execution.

Also, as crazy as it sounds, Taveras as a PH was not an indefensible play there, especially with an off day tomorrow.
