This is interesting.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Both fairing halves recovered. Will be flown on Starlink mission later this year. <a href="https://t.co/ouz1aqW3Mm">pic.twitter.com/ouz1aqW3Mm</a></p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1116514068393680896?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 12, 2019</a></blockquote>

They apparently both went in the drink but came out intact. Since he's saying they'll use it for Starlink, that implies that it'll be a little bit of an experiment to see if they still perform well. Still, always cool to see all the little things they're working on.

Glad to see. I’ve seen a lot of very smart women develop algorithms not get their due.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Congratulations to Dr. Katie Bouman, who developed the algorithm which captured the first ever image of a black hole! You are an inspiration to all Americans and especially to young women and girls with STEAM dreams! <a href="https://t.co/OPV0X55lcc">https://t.co/OPV0X55lcc</a></p>&mdash; Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) <a href="https://twitter.com/SpeakerPelosi/status/1116472714372558849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 11, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Technically, Katie Bouman was only one scientist out of many hundreds that worked on that project. She's getting all the credit because of an incorrect tweet claiming she "Single handedly" wrote the algorithm. But that couldn't be further from the case. Out of the ~900,000 lines of code for the algorithm, Katie only wrote about 2,000 lines. She just happened to be featured in a photo and the media has run with it.

Also... somebody tell Nancy it's "STEM" not "STEAM."

They added arts in for some reason, so now it's STEAM.

Stem doesn't cover the feelings/creative side that libs so desperately cling to like the right clings to their guns. Steam does.
