If they bring him back then they can sign him to an extension. Plus I'm guessing Clark's contract is coming off the books as well.

As I've said since the Chris Jones conversations started in earnest - the league does not WANT a single team carrying 6-8 guys at/near the top of their respective markets. They want that talent spread out.

And they especially don't want it if one of those is a QB.

You just cannot have top of the market salaries for a QB, WR, LT, LG, TE and DT for any appreciable period of time. Especially when you WERE carrying top of the market salaries at S and DE prior to that which prevented you from banking rollover towards your adjusted cap.
