Saints finished 11th in defense this year.

He's also played well in other games against good defenses (e.g. Steelers, Rams).

Bottom line, he's not gonna get held to 3 points and look completely hopeless like Smith did on countless occasions.

Alex Smith has never had a good game against a good defense! Oh wait he did it against the Broncos alone multiple times.

You’re truly a ****ing moron if you think that Jimmy G is THAT much better than Alex. He’s better, but let’s not act like it’s leaps and bounds.

If the few of you on here are any indication, your fanbase is full of delusional morons.

KC defense will get exposed

What specific personnel on the Chiefs defense will the 49ers expose? And why do you believe that? Please be specific in your response. I’m sure you can speak to the scheme and recent trends of both teams. I’m looking forward to your response.

I doubt you’ll just make an assumption based on total defense ranking (a stat that is extremely easily skewed) or something like that. Please explain.

KC defense will get gashed.

You do know that just because you keep saying that stupid shit, doesn't mean it'll come true

LOL this is an ESPN-level hot take.

Belichick didn't try to run off Brady so he could start over with Alex Smith.

Alex Smith isn't walking onto a 1-10 football team and having them playing like a top 5 offense without even knowing the full playbook.

We were 3-10 last year without Jimmy G, and now we're in the Super Bowl with the #4 total offense and #2 scoring offense.

I survived the Alex Smith/Troy Smith/Nate Davis/JT O'Sullivan/etc... years.

Jimmy G is legit.

He's not on Mahomes's level (no one is). I'm just saying, don't expect some scrub who's gonna be shook by a blitz or a defender in his face or whatever.

Alex Smith came to KC and took a 2-14 chiefs team that was the worst in the NFL. They were dead last 32 of 32 in total offense. When Smith took over they won their first 9 games, finished 11-5 and ranked #6 in total offense.

So he basically did the same exact thing Jimmy did this year but lost in the playoffs despite Smith throwing for 360 yards and 4 td’s in one game because the Bob Sutton defense blew the biggest lead in playoff history.

Alex did his part by fumbling the ball away in the 4th qtr and generally shitting the bed down the stretch.

Don’t even bother with this moron.

He said Jimmy G is closer to Montana than Alex. I mean it doesn’t get any more delusional than that.

LMAO

He still did more in one playoff game than Jimmy G did in two this year.

Like I said earlier, I didn’t watch KC Alex Smith other than his playoff losses and a random game here or there.

But SF Alex Smith, I’ve seen more than I ever wanted see.

Harbaugh didn’t even really allow him to audible. If the play wasn’t there on 3rd down, he would just check down or take a sack. That’s basically what he was coached to do.

Jimmy G is WAY better than SF Smith.

I can’t speak on the Chiefs version.

He did WAAAY more than enough to win that game. More than Garropolo has ever contribute in a playoff game.

The defense didnt do anything.

Hou fans said the same exact thing.

TEN fans did too. Just like you, they howled that nonsense for a week.

Chargers fans also thought their run game was going to 'expose' our defense.

Pretty much every fanbase with a team that had some kind of running game has come in here saying the same thing you're saying.

You know what's funny? Not one of their great running games ran for more than a 100 yards.

So, instead of waiting, why don't you tell us right now what your first five excuses are going to be for why your great running game didn't run for over a 100 yards?

And please don't use the "the refs didn't want us to win, " or the "weather," or the oh-so-popular "our OC was trying to change things up," excuses.

We've heard all of that before. Try to be more interesting than the fans of the last 9 or so teams we thrashed with our terrible defense.

Shit, there's plenty of blame to go around for that shitfest.

They don't have to stop the Chiefs, just slow them down and then see if the 49ers offense can be more successful on the Chiefs defense. Big potential X-Factor for both sides will be special teams and turnovers. Gotta play smart and protect the ball.
