Keysor's piece on this today was pretty cool. He showed this play against MN where both CBs blitzed, the LBs drifted wide to cover, and he actually dropped Nnadi into coverage. Pretty wild stuff, definitely need to have the right pieces to pull it off.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

The latter has just gotten so disjointed. It's like they've just quit preparing and I dunno if Nantz is just over Romo or what, but their interplay is awful these days.

Honestly my favorite may be Ian Eagle and Charles Davis these days. If Olsen would stop bitching about flags thrown/not thrown then I'd like Olsen and Burkhardt quite a bit but Olsen's constant criticisms of officiating (and the narrative it creates) bother me.

Just let Harlan do it. I don't care who his partner is. He's so clearly the best at it. He strikes a perfect balance between enthusiasm and polish. He's not stuffy like Buck or insane like Gus Johnson.

I don't need enthusiasm from my crew.

My first criteria is that they don't annoy me and Buck and Troy are fine.

I like Harlan but Ian annoys me. Olsen's bitching is annoying.

Yea, its too bad Romo has gone downhill so much.

On several of those plays - likely even the one noted above - the outcome is almost immaterial. He's putting that play on tape so that he can do that Reid safety blitz that straightjacketed Jackson and took the Ravens out of FG range.

It was arguably the biggest defensive play of the season. That would've made it a one -score game with plenty of time left. It was MASSIVE and you know part of the reason it got home was that Spags sends so many guys from so many places that all those fake looks he gave were throwing Jackson off. He had 3 or 4 guys fake blitzes there. And Reid didn't show anything until after the protection call and just before Jackson snapped it. Reid wasn't on Lamar's mind at all - he was watching the LBs and the CBs.

I just can't say enough about how locked in Spags has been this year. It's been a masterclass.

The thing that gives me the most confidence we will win is I don't think Purdy is good at setting his protections and Spags is just going to put that kid in a blender for four quarters.

That was such a legendary call. Harlan calling the score update in Miami, giving us the vital playoff standings info, and the broadcast catching the simultaneous realization by the fans was perfection. No dumb cutaway to a guy in New York, Harlan just did it all himself.

And how did the zone run game of the Miami Dolphins - which is the exact same system - do against the Chiefs?

Other than some yardage Mostert picked up in the Germany matchup at the end of each halves, the Chiefs' defense controlled the Dolphins run game.

People just aren't talking about this enough. The Chiefs have played this system, with more dangerous/big-play WR talent, and handled it just fine.

The Dolphins don't have a Trent Williams or George Kittle that their RB can run behind. And Mostert is not CMC.

i've never had a strong opinion on mitch. i don't listen to football on the radio, so he's nothing to me either way.

nantz and romo are no beuno. nantz seems like a nice guy but i think he fits stuff like the masters more than football. romo is insufferable. i actually like buck and aikman. joe has said in interviews that he knows some people find him boring, but he intentionally tries to not shout over huge moments. he doesn't want you turning off your TV thinking about him and not the game you just watched, and that's preferable imo.

The underrated part of that call (everyone remembers "I'm calling both games!" is the seamless transition from "Here Butker kicks the Extra point and Fitzpatrick throws in the end zone, TOUCHDOWN MIAMI!!!"

I mean he just flips his eyes from one monitor to the other and doesn't break stride. It's just incredible.
