I could be being mislead by the fact that they went from first to worst in only two years or that they lost 7 conference games in a row and the coach was being replaced at midseason.... but I do not think any objective observer sees this program as on the rise. They see a team that was well coached for the first time in a long while and found a good QB, and the schedule and momentum all created a perfect storm. We will see what Gil can do, but really. That is not a program on the rise right now. Posted via Mobile Device |

The only major university, I would have to think, that might have a chance of making more money in basketball than football might be Duke. But that's damn near an entirely different animal b/c this is more akin to an Ivy League school. |
Oh for FFS. We have discussed about the Turner Gil hiring.
Last year's Buffalo team was pretty young team. Also, his first year in Buffalo was 2-10. After that, it was 5-7. Then it was 8-6. Sometimes W-L's can be a little skewed with the first year, when he didn't have much to work on. But he has shown some improvement. It also helps KU to have a former Big XII guy who has some experience in the conference. I should also point out that Gill served as position coach for two first team All-Americans, Tommie Frazier and Eric Crouch, with Crouch also earning the Heisman Trophy under Gill's tutelage. The Cornhuskers earned three national championships in Gill's time as an assistant there. It also helps that he has strong ties in Texas. |

When/If Missouri & Nebraska leave the conference, can those of you who are colossal douchebags, go elsewhere too?

I'm pretty broken up about it. |

Declare something that is correct incorrect, then don't offer any proof towards your claim. Brilliant! |

I was more remarking on the nonsense that is asking Mizzou & Nebraska fans to leave a Chiefs message board because their colleges are changing conferences. |
