There’s no one at his level as a player

You don't think the player who plays closest to Jordan we've ever seen, who is currently leading the league in scoring on the best team in NBA history thus far won't win?

Wanna bet?

Oh I expect SGA is gonna win

I also expect it’s gonna be looked at a few years later just like the Embiid one is in relation to Jokic (a future top 5 player in history)

And James was the primary culprit. Lost his man on defense, made a really bad, lazy inbounds on offense.

Give him all the credit in the world for the put-back a couple days ago, but he pretty much has to wear that yack job. He's gotta be better down the stretch there.

First half of Elite 8 game Tenn vs Houston and Tennessee only scored 15 points at half time.

Can we start a petition to do away with the play in game bullshit. Why would anyone want to see an extra game featuring sub 500 teams. It's bad enough that there will be teams with losing records in the top 8.

They were only 9th in point differential in history. In fact, of the Top 14 teams of all time in point differential only two didn't win the NBA Finals. That was one of the teams. Every other team went to the NBA Finals so not sure how this years geezer Lebron is gonna do anything.

I'll say this -- I didn't care when they did it. I don't care now.

That said -- compare Bronny to any other 2nd rounder. Compare him to anyone taken anywhere near him.

He MIGHT get 1st round consideration in a re-draft right now. Not early, obviously, but 25-30 range. Because he's shown improvement this year and has, at times, dominated the G-League.

That's the PEAK of any reasonable expectations you'd put on a mid-late 2nd rounder.

The pick has worked out well for LA. Now the hoopla around it is ridiculous, but ultimately the odds of James contributing more at the NBA level than anyone taken in the 2nd (certainly anyone available to LA) are pretty damn good.

Nepotism or no, he's earned his keep in the G-League and most players who have runs like he has had at that level WILL get a cup of coffee here and there in the NBA.

It isn't worth talking about at this point. Water found its level.

Nah, not because I don't have the money I don't want to go through the whole rigmarole of sending the money if I lose.

Did you see Baby Billy water ski last week? lol

This team is WAY better than any of those teams.

It just defends so damn well. SGA's scoring gets the headlines but what really sets the Thunder apart is how good and how deep that defense is.

If they have an off shooting night they're probably still going to put up 100 points and they'll likely end up holding you to 88.

They just don't have a way they HAVE to win. Those Durant teams had to score to win. A lot of other championship caliber teams have needed to lean on defense.

OKC just does everything at such a high level. And have a LOT of guys that can do it. And a shitload of draft capital and no bad contracts and a slew of young players.

They're a massive problem for the next 3-5 years at least.

So yeah - we can cling to the idea that they'll just collapse in the playoffs, but in the NBA that doesn't usually happen. Most of the time, the best teams at least make the conference finals and in the end the NBA has the most 'representative' champions, IMO.

I'd still take the field over OKC because the West is really hard and the Celtics represent an interesting matchup for them. If the Thunder have to fight to get through the West and find Boston waiting for them on the other side, that may just be asking too much.

But I'm closer to betting against the field than I've been on an NBA team in a long time. They're ****ing good. And for the next couple years at least they're only gonna get better.

Almost no big man can be the best player, especially the impact on winning. As you saw with your lover boy HD you still have to get the ball to him. While Jokic can create offense on his own you still have to give him the ball on the right spot on the floor. You cant just give him the ball at the top of the key or on a fast break most of the time. Great guards can get to their spot and make you pay.

Alright now, why don't you join hands with us. This will be Baby Billys time to shine. The Thunder will have gods grace rhis year with your help . This is finally your big break. The Thunder were scientifically formulated by the lord to win.

We've always known the twins were tards.

Jokic is incredible. Don't really know anything about this SGAY fella, apparently he's in the mvp convo too - other than he's canadian(gay as ****) and played at kentucky(double gay as ****).

They whuped the ass of a playoff team by like 15 points and he chooses THEN to go in on SGA?

That said -- I absolutely hate his style of play and hope beyond hope that the NBA starts swallowing whistles in the playoffs. I still remember the league setting basketball back a decade in that series where they just put Wade on the line every time he drove the ball against Dallas.

In the final two games of that series the guy drew 46 FT attempts in two games they won by a combined 4 points.

To say nothing of the 18 he drew in a game they won by 2.

In one series the guy had 3 games where he had 18 or more FT attempts. In his entire playoff career outside of those three games he managed to do that twice.

And we're gonna pretend like that was a legit title.

The league doesn't benefit from a series where this guy's going to the line 13+ times to the line every game...

He leads the league in drives per game....by alot.

He actually doesn't get called for as many fouls as he should because they just get tired of his fearless relentless stamina.

Michael Jordan FTA a game 8.2.
SGA FTA a game 7.0.

Do you hate Jordan?

Pablo 04-03-2025 07:18 PM

Sounds like he’s getting a lot of breathers to keep that stamina up by being a free throw merchant

He's averaged about 9.5/gm over the last 3 seasons.

And the league was allowing guys to literally attack Jordan in order to defend him. The Jordan Rules were centered on just beating the shit out of the guy.

Those ain't the sorts of fouls they're calling with SGA.

Your argument is stupid here and you know it.

KC_Connection 04-03-2025 08:01 PM

I don’t know who the comp is for SGA historically but it certainly isn’t MJ. They play nothing alike.

He’s like a mix of Wade and Ginobili.

Knew that one would trigger you but it’s accurate. Both slithery/sneaky high IQ players with great defense.

Eureka 04-03-2025 09:19 PM

Curry is hurt and that might be the pivoting point in this LA/GS game.

Now back to talking about the perceived Western conference championship matchup (OKC/LA).

Al Bundy 04-03-2025 10:44 PM

That was a hell of a road win for the Warriors.

BWillie 04-03-2025 10:55 PM

It's a good win.

But the Lakers bench played about as poorly as I've ever seen a bench play and really Luka's shot was off all night.

Doesn't seem replicable.

Lakers weren’t getting the offensive rebounds in the 1st half even though they had size advantage.

Warriors have a top rated defense and that probably played a bigger role versus LA bench being off. But both teams scored a 100+.

Warriors being tested again against Denver and they look like a very capable/determined team since the Butler trade.
