Reerun_KC 01-18-2022 08:06 PM

And they missed David wide open running down the court.

It’s stunning Bill Self can’t design an inbound pass play.

KC_Connection 01-18-2022 08:07 PM

Not putting in Remy Martin to get this ball in here over McCormack says it all.

ROYC75 01-18-2022 08:11 PM

Damn, tough win but a win
Anytime you win when you are sucking, it's good!

But damn, this team has so much potential and we don't execute and disappears shooting it.

KC_Connection 01-18-2022 08:11 PM

There’s no such thing as a bad road win although that was pretty close.

smithandrew051 01-18-2022 08:16 PM

That sure felt like a loss coming pretty much all night

Maybe I’m over estimating our talent and under estimating everyone else’s.

But the big 12 is apparently loaded and we’re not as good as our ranking.

Nothing else can describe what we’re seeing.

I’m gonna wait for KCC to whine in about someone or something before I say much more.

This is the least talented team we've had in about 15 years. Self has done a wonderful job with this squad. Look at the recruiting rankings for the guys that play. It aint good. We have experience, not alot of talent. We're winning via experience. Thats why it feels like we suck.

KU had the overall #1 seed in the tournament. Hanging a #1 (not a National Championship) seems reasonable to both recognize the accomplishments of that team and a subtle but sad memorial to covid.

Self and his coaching style is a well established dogma. When Remy choose to come here, he had to know that. He had a lot of choices. So him being put out by Self being Self.... not buying that narrative.

Big 12 is loaded. A couple of teams are struggling but any win against a Big 12 opponent is a good win.

Remy has been injured. We are(were) much better offensively when he's playing a lot of minutes. Not sure Remy is healthy enough yet to carry the load he was before.

There could be 8 or 9 Big12 teams in the tournament this year. Hell the 10th team might have a chance if they were in any other conference.

BWillie 01-19-2022 12:31 PM

Grady Dick has moved up from #25 to #8 in ESPN's latest recruiting rankings.

He's just a straight bucket getter. Self is foaming at the mouth thinking about how he can turn him into a throw it into the post for a turnover getter.

chiefqueen 01-21-2022 03:21 PM

I just saw on Twitter (from Gary Bedore) that Bill Self's dad has passed away. No word on whether he coaches tomorrow (or Mon night - I'm guessing the funeral will be Mon. or Tues.)

The OSSAA has spoken to family members who confirmed the passing of Bill Self Sr. Sad news. According to Norm Roberts, Self is expected to coach tomorrow's game.

Auburn beat up on Cal today, that's nice.

Now it's time for us to put little brother in a headlock and dunk him in that toilet water.

Geez, since when is KSU so good at draining 3s?

Is this just an anomaly? Will we get it back to respectable? It's bills dad dying causing ku to play like crap?

Its called boxing out with a guy grabbing you. What you are reacting to is flailing bodies not fouls.

Reerun_KC 01-22-2022 04:23 PM

Ksuck shot an an amazing clip over 60% in the first half.

KC_Connection 01-22-2022 05:00 PM

Pack is playing one of the best individual games anyone has ever played against KU.

KC_Connection 01-22-2022 05:09 PM

I hope we don’t hear any complaining about the refs from our resident KSU fan after they decided to call that shot a 2 and didn’t even bother reviewing it LMAO

Lzen 01-22-2022 05:09 PM

I would love an explanation of why that was not 3FTs. There is no good reason.

Pablo 01-22-2022 05:11 PM

HOLY HELL

Always good to see the better team win eh kstater?

Lzen 01-22-2022 05:12 PM

Good to see their guy actually cool off. He was ridiculously hot earlier. You knew they had to cool off a bit eventually

Lzen 01-22-2022 05:12 PM

Ochai coming through with the dagger!

TLO 01-22-2022 05:13 PM

George Liquor 01-22-2022 05:14 PM

Ochai could well be Big 12 POY.

KC_Connection 01-22-2022 05:15 PM

KSU losing that game is utterly hilarious. LMAO

Was clearly their SB and they had basically everything going their way.

Agbaji with a gritty performance. I didn't even know he had that in him in past years. Guy couldn't make shit and still found a way to be KUs best player.

That was wild. Called a 3 initially. Come back to the line and they call it a two, for no reason. He was a foot behind the line. Just really odd.

My theory is they regretted calling the foul immediately and then decided to call it a 2 as a concession to KSU because they couldn’t take the actual foul back. They also knew it was actually a three and could clearly be seen as such on review so they didn’t bother looking.
