My money is on Jimmy Raye III. Young guy, comes from a team that has successfully built through draft, and it would make sense that he might be someone Marty would have recommended to Clark in their meeting.
Personally I think it would be a pretty damn good hire and the meltdown just because of his name would be classic. |

But this story was written yesterday, which means nothing came of it. The latest seems to be that the Browns ended their interview with no deal and Pioli plans to talk to Clark. |
I don't care who he recruited. I care about what he developed. Locating talent in college is huge, but most talented kids are recruited by virtually every other program. Bottom line Cash recruits players in the NFL. Developing talent and scheming offenses/defenses to differentiate is what wins ballgames in the nfl.
I'm not saying all talent is the same, but a coaching staff that can scheme and expose weaknesses can overcome talent difficiences. The next staff must identify the proper players for schemes that can vary from week to week to defeat teams with different philosophies every sunday. Plus the ability to confuse our opponent on a weekly basis would be nice, as I'm sick of being confused as a fan by our defensive coaching staffs ineptitude to field a winning product. Oh yeah, Dick Curl is worthless as well. That has no relevance but felt it should be said. |

I believe that Clark's personal relationship with the Kraft family will play into any negotiations with Pioli. It may one of the reasons that Pioli wasn't so quick to jump on the Browns' offer. Most of you already know this, but Clark has publicly stated that he has a close relationship with Daniel Kraft.
