I thought it was just us but the David Tyree miracle catch was the same old snore fest too.

Thank God we get Jim Nantz this time

I'd rather have Buck and Aikman than Nance and Romo.

The latter has just gotten so disjointed. It's like they've just quit preparing and I dunno if Nantz is just over Romo or what, but their interplay is awful these days.

Honestly my favorite may be Ian Eagle and Charles Davis these days. If Olsen would stop bitching about flags thrown/not thrown then I'd like Olsen and Burkhardt quite a bit but Olsen's constant criticisms of officiating (and the narrative it creates) bother me.

Just let Harlan do it. I don't care who his partner is. He's so clearly the best at it. He strikes a perfect balance between enthusiasm and polish. He's not stuffy like Buck or insane like Gus Johnson.

How spags has utilized the DB blitzes is just incredible.

I never liked 'em. The occasional NCB blitz was something I tolerated as a tendency breaker but they they just seemed like a big play every time. Not with Spags this season.

That guy's been locked in all year on those things. And of course having Sneed, McDuffie and Reid doesn't hurt - all those guys do the job very well.

But its those concepts that I generally have to have pointed out to me that make them work. "Oh look at how he showed inside leverage with the LBer to draw this protection then used a stunt to create a lane through the A gap and..."

Holy ****, Spags - these guys have families and you're putting them in clown shoes on national television. That's just mean, man!

I always defended Mike Shannon as "our geriatric drunk" but I've just never warmed to Mitch. And I feel like he's gotten worse as he's fallen in love with his own celebrity and some of his 'pet calls'.

To his credit, you can never EVER doubt his enthusiasm or his sincerity. Watching him do those calls on video is hilarious. He lives and dies with the team the same as we do.

But he is a bit of a cornball and he's just an okay broadcaster.

Hes great and exciting. Don't get you guys

Yes, I think someone needs to remind him he is not the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nice guy but his calls are embarrassing with cringy stuff for losers like GoChiefs to lap up.

Like if you liked Tim and Eric you'll probably like Mitch and I mean that as a compliment

You are taking embarrassing old man humor and forcing it unnaturally into a box that is actually funny. He is none of those things.

Poor Raiders fans. They'd have to blow the dust off their rings to see such sights.

One is not better than the other. They are just different.

Harlan is better than Mitch in every way possible.

There is a reason Harlan is where he is.

Keysor's piece on this today was pretty cool. He showed this play against MN where both CBs blitzed, the LBs drifted wide to cover, and he actually dropped Nnadi into coverage. Pretty wild stuff, definitely need to have the right pieces to pull it off.

Spags does what Andy does. He's constantly putting shit on paper just to set other stuff up.

On several of those plays - likely even the one noted above - the outcome is almost immaterial. He's putting that play on tape so that he can do that Reid safety blitz that straightjacketed Jackson and took the Ravens out of FG range.

It was arguably the biggest defensive play of the season. That would've made it a one -score game with plenty of time left. It was MASSIVE and you know part of the reason it got home was that Spags sends so many guys from so many places that all those fake looks he gave were throwing Jackson off. He had 3 or 4 guys fake blitzes there. And Reid didn't show anything until after the protection call and just before Jackson snapped it. Reid wasn't on Lamar's mind at all - he was watching the LBs and the CBs.

I just can't say enough about how locked in Spags has been this year. It's been a masterclass.
