Steph is a top 10 player and Lawson is an excellent PG.

I've conveniently wiped Ty Lawson from my memory. Don't bring it up again or I'll have to call my therapist.

The Timberwolves are a lot like RustShack. They're trying to prop up Ricky Rubio as something awesome and amazing. I like Rubio more than most and think you can win with him as your PG actually, but he's not a franchise player at all. And the more the Wolves act like he is, the more I lose patience with Rubio and start to hate his guts.

Damn. The Wolves have been going about this the wrong way.

Kevin Love and Alexei Shved for Wiggins, Waiters, and a 1st rounder! Blatt won't be able to pass that up!

Just because it's young doesn't mean it's not talent.

Another reason I like the Golden State trade for Love for T-Wolves is where Barnes and Lee are from. Barnes is a Iowa boy and David Lee is from St. Louis. Minneapolis wouldn't be a culture shock at all for them.

I actually still like Bennett's upside. He has talent; he's a big guy that can handle and shoot and he's willing to rebound. But he's still very young and has a lot to learn. There have been plenty of others with the same profile who flamed out.

Waiters has talent as well, but just not sure about his head. He's already tweeted that he's not interested in playing a 6th man role this season, despite RustShack's pollyanna characterization of the collective mindset of the Cavs.

and the Wizards are even worse than Kahn for trading that 5th pick for Randy Foye and Mike Miller. They could have had a shot at Steph Curry too. (I can't complain because we got John Wall) But we traded that 5th pick to Minnesota for ****ing slop lol

Ironically Flip Saunders was the Wizards coach at the time, funny how the circle completes itself.

But you're so keen on making yourself look like a ****ing idiot that you aren't even bothering to read what people are writing. Here, read this again, slowly, sanely and rationally:

Now, figure out what that poster was really posting.

Shit, you're like a 5 year old riding a mega sugar high.

Harrison Barnes numbers last year are worse than Waiters. He's more versatile on the defensive end, but offensively it's just been more of the same from his season at Carolina.

Sassy Squatch 07-15-2014 10:10 PM

Why do the Wolves want Klay so badly? Isn't this the last year of his deal.

I'm really not sure how I make myself look like an idiot when most if the time you say that I'm the one who ends up being right.

This is a really excellent post. On both players. Bennett lost 20 pounds and he looks a ton quicker and energetic. We'll see where that goes. Waiters has proven to be an excellent player. I agree that I have a feeling the guy is going to be a complete nuisance everywhere he goes. That, to me, is the piece should be talking about in terms of trade comp, not talent. He's got plenty of talent.

You know, let's just stop talking about that draft altogether so I don't have to think about my Grizzlies' decision.

At #2, they took what was probably the 2nd worst player in that entire first round. It's mind numbing.

mcaj22 07-15-2014 10:12 PM

he wouldnt be a nuisance if he went to the Sixers, his hometown lol

You're making my point for me.

David Kahn had the chance to make us that team in 2009 and gave us absolute shit. He ****ed up again with the Wesley Johnson pick in 2010. And in 2011 we couldn't even get the #1 overall pick when we had the best shot at it, leaving Cleveland with Kyrie Irving and the Wolves with Derrick ****ing Williams.

I'm not saying he has to hit on every pick. 2009 aside, when everybody knew he ****ed up as soon as the picks were sent in, the Wolves probably did what they could. But geez... you gotta hit on SOMETHING in that 3 year stretch. Kyrie Irving with last year's team gives us a good shot to make the playoffs. DeMarcus Cousins or Gordon Hayward in 2010 makes us a playoff team this year. Steph Curry and potentially Demar DeRozan in 2009 added to what we have now makes us a vibrant basketball organization like OKC that looks to win a playoff series or possibly two every year.

Instead, we got NOTHING in that span. And other teams look at us and say, "Here's Dion Waiters. He's pretty good. You could do worse."

That's depressing as hell. I like the Wolves a lot, as they are our local team. What could have been...
