Well, as would put it. KU is suppose to be one of the Elite teams in Basketball, you have all these Conference Championships, you have all these final 4 appearences....blah, blah, blah.
And as you put it, MIZZOU is supposed to be a average to below average team, who never gets anywhere.
You ask anyone, which loss was worse/funnier, and they would tell you it was the KU loss.

I ask you, why do YOU care so much about a average to below average team losing to another below average team?????

Losing to Georgia in basketball is less embarrassing, sure. Missouri is an average basketball program and they lost to a bad team. Kansas is a good basketball program and they lost to a bad team. Which one should not be happening?

Neither one is all that shocking, though. Upsets happen in basketball. It's a flukey game.

SEC basketball is a mess overall outside of Florida and Kentucky. I'm not sure Mizzou even had the worst conference loss that night. I thought Arkansas was thoroughly embarrassed by Texas A&M, a very bad team in their own right (lost in Corpus Christi to a Missouri State squad missing their two best players, and lost at home by 20 to North Texas).

Saul Good 01-10-2014 11:27 AM

Mizzou basketball isn't a mess.

Well, I don't know how you would describe their performance on Wednesday, but it didn't look good to me. I admit it may be a one-game thing, as that happens, but UGA is a terrible team to have that kind of game against.

So they had a bad loss. There are 18 conference games to be played, then a potential for 3 or 4 more in the conference tournament. And even if you lollygag around all season and only place 4th or 5th in a major conference you're still going to get in the postseason anyway, because it's basketball and they let half the country into the postseason. In basketball a loss doesn't really mean anything until March.

The problem the SEC keeps running into is that several of their teams get to 9 or 10 wins in OOC and then fall on their face in conference play. I don't think that will be an issue for Mizzou going forward because they have quality non-con wins. Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss all have 10 or more wins already, but I don't think any of them make the NCAA tournament because they all have deep flaws, and the only quality win out of those three thus far is Minnesota.

Prison Bitch 01-10-2014 11:53 AM

The win in CoMo might just be Georgia's best road win this year.

Saul Good 01-10-2014 11:54 AM

SEC basketball sucks this year. There's no denying that.

I don't follow basketball closely, but I don't think I heard anyone say they were expecting Missouri to be great this season. They don't have the horses for a tournament run at the moment.

I actually think Mizzou is better than they were last year. UCLA and NC State were good wins, the kind of wins the SEC needs to improve its overall image. If Mizzou can keep themselves steady through tournament time and Arkansas can find a way to win some road games, that will really help. Four good teams are much better than two.

Saul was. Bragging about being ranked closely to Kansas. Yes you may not have thought they were legit (nor did I looking at SoS data) but Saul was fooled.

Enjoying some schadenfreude about the team of destiny nearly falling out of the top 25 is something that I won't fault him for.

Remind me again which post I made talking about how good the Mizzou basketball squad was.

Now, Now.....you know that links, evidence, and facts are not things that Prison Bitch is comfortable with...you might be asking a bit much out of him.
