I'd be fine with the Reid hire if I knew the following. Who does he want at QB, because he's shown questionable taste and his success is built on QBs with mobility, which isn't the QB model I want to be following. And the defense that was in the top 10 seven of 9 years under Jim Johnson has ranked 19, 21, 10, and 29 since Johnson left. What is his defensive identity? And how much say does he have in personnel, because he's not exactly the best judge of talent.

Those are really important questions. It's a good move if it's Reid + Rivera + Heckert. Run for the hills if it's Reid + Bowles or any other project + Reid calling most of the personnel shots.

It is going be harder and harder each year to find a "protypical" QB you are looking for. College coaches have found success using the spread option and with mobil QBs to run it. The future of the NFL is shifting to what college is producing for them to take. The NFL has to adjust like it is trying to do. Get ahead of the curb if you can while you can. I think we are looking at a new era ahead of us for the future of QB play in the NFL and it starts with what college teams are doing. Spread option QBs are going be a novilty item imo.

If by stone age offense, you mean, the same offense half of the teams in the NFL run, then hell yeah.

And yes, I'll forever pine for Ferentz. I think his skills as a talent evaluator and motivator are lost on the fact that he runs a program in the Big 10 that gets next to nothing for recruits, yet constantly churns out players that get drafted to the heights of some of the best teams in the nation (read SEC and Texas)

That's my queue.

It's about to get ugly!

I don't give a ****.

The guy isn't Newton or RGIII and he's definitely not Luck. He's not even Andy Dalton.

I've said the same thing, but many here seem to believe he IS RG3.

Relax. Reid is incredibly interested in this job. How do I know? He spent 9 ****ing hours talking about it. There is a lot of mutual interest. Reid is doing his due dilligence. I'd bet money he will be the next Head Coach of The Kansas City Chiefs.

I have seen absolutely nothing from Geno Smith this season that screams "Franchise QB".

IMO, from what I've seen, he's just a guy.

Prepare for the lynch mob to come out in full force.

No matter how shitty he played at times, there's always an excuse for it.

Reid + Tyler Wilson = Win.

Also take this into consideration...

Andy Reid will likely be choosing Kolb+whoever is left at 7th overall over Geno Smith.

The guy KNOWS its all about the quarterback.

How can you make that assumption about what QB Reid would favor, or that he understands the importance of the QB?

It was really just 3 hours and a 6 hour lunch break.

Geno played a few terrible games. I wish he would have played much better in the bowl game. I still love his upside, but it will be interesting to see how things shake out during the combine.

If Reid is the coach, I wouldn't be shocked to see Barkley be the guy though.

Still like Tyler Wilson's upside too.

The Bad Guy 01-02-2013 08:25 PM

If Andy Reid is the coach, I'll trust whatever QB evaluations he has.

Mother****erJones 01-02-2013 08:25 PM

Im sorry but **** whoever wants Ferentz....19-19 last 3 years in a weak Big Ten
