Rice has been great, except for drops......
..... and fumbles. I am pretty sure he has fumbled 3 or 4 times already, losing 1, in limited touches. He needs to work on protecting the ball. I know he was ruled down, but if he keeps the ball in his hands, maybe Pop doesn't get the penalty or doesn't get ejected, and that game ends differently. Edit: Rice is not responsible for the loss. I am not saying that. |
Players with the most yards after catch this season:
Tyreek Hill - 601 Ja’Marr Chase - 512 Rachaad White - 494 Breece Hall - 469 Rashee Rice - 467 Deebo Samuel - 460 DJ Moore - 450 CeeDee Lamb - 441 Puka Nacua - 438 Amon-Ra St. Brown - 433 |

That's eye-opening. I think Rashee has the potential to be our postseason hero this year. |

The dudes with podcasts don't know their asses from a hole in the ground at least half the time. I've given up. CP is about the only place where you can have any sort of useful dialogue and even that requires you to wade through some nonsense first. Like I've said before - as the bandwagon's filled up, I've given up trying to talk football with anyone because I've seen too many of them glaze over. "Do you REALLY want to know how I think the game's gonna go this weekend or are you just making small talk?" Because 99% of folks you talk to really don't want to hear about how we're oging to deal with overload blitzes or how Spags utilizes unique gap responsibilities and mixed coverages to create headaches while sending 4. And god help you if you say anything more than "Man, the WRs and OL are just awful" when you try to discuss the offense right now. The WRs are the in thing to bitch about right now and chiefs fans have been blaming the OL for the worlds troubles going back to when our right guard kidnapped the Lindbergh Baby. |

The 49ers system when it has talent in it, obviously works very well but without a doubt it increases the odds that skill position players and even the QB get hurt. Niners have the strong skill position players but most of them go over the middle and take huge hits in doing so. The QB is susceptible to big hits as well even though he is mobille and has a great left tackle... the rest of the line has normally not been good. Deebo still gets hurt/banged up from all the big hits and he is built kind of like a tank/running back. Rice isn't skinny but I wouldn't risk too many plays where he can get smashed to smithereens before the playoffs. In most win games in the playoffs that is a different story. |

Rice is doing fantastic as a rookie! He can be a bonafide #1. His catch last week on the last drive where he caught it between a defenders hand was excellent. He seems to have fixed his drops problem as he hasn’t dropped the ball lately. Fumbles still an issue but we can work on that.

Many of his early drops weren't concentration drops (oddly enough, more of his later ones have been). They were just...well they were just ordinary ol' drops. Shit that veterans do. I don't think anyone 'fixed his drops' - it was just simple regression. He's playing to the back of his baseball card, so to speak. It just took a larger sample size for some early drops to even out. I don't think he's ever going to have elite hands - but I think he'll be average to slightly above. And I think that's about where his rate is trending. He's fine. He's always been fine. |

Rice has 6 TD receptions, which is more than than MVS-1, Sky Moore-1, Justin Watson-2, Toney-1, Mecole Hardman-0, Justin Ross-0, Ritchie James-0 combined.
A little over 300 yards away from being first chiefs wr ever with over 1,000 yards in rookie season |
Wasn’t there a weird stat a few years back about how only a handful of teams had ever had a 1,000 yard WR, TE, and RB (rushing yards) in the same season?
I think we did it in 2017 with Kelce, Hill, and Hunt. Maybe the Browns did it one year too? With 4 games remaining, we have a shot if Pacheco comes back soon. |
