Seastrunk has announced that he is going to the NFL.

Looks like James Franklin will go to Penn State.

Don't worry.. Rhoads, Mangino, and Burnham are coming to save Iowa State and the Big12.

I actually feel like our Offensive staff is one of the most stacked in the country. And we don't even have a QB coach yet.

The ratings story gets even worse for college footballs biggest stage. #1 like always was Birmingham AL with a 55.8 rating, same as last year. Three of the next four were all close to Tallahassee: Jacksonville, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa.

Outside the South, people simply don't care all that much about the sport.

So you're telling me that the ratings for Auburn vs Florida State were highest in Alabama and Florida? How can this be? I am stunned.

It's that way across the entire season. Strong ratings south of the Mason Dixon line, weak elsewhere.

Callers to WFAN this morning were bashing college football left and right. I couldn't believe it. But it was the same old points... too long, inferior product, etc etc

It's befuddling as to why grown adults in the South go so crazy over these guys.

It's football and it's awesome. I can't imagine not loving the game.

We need to be careful on that last point given how crazy Allen gets for hoops games.

They should bring college football to the northeast, maybe you guys would like it.

Good season by Mizzou. It's probably the high point. ESPN's projected top-25 for next year does not include them.

It's been the high point so far along w/ 2007 of this regime. I never saw this season coming 5 months ago so who knows. We lose some serious difference making material.

2 WR - LWash/MLucas
2 Oline - Britt/Copeland
1 RB - Josey - just announced a few min ago he's going pro
1 QB - Franklin
2 Dline - Ealy/Sam
1 LB - Wilson
2 Corners - Gaines/Ponder
1 Safety - White

I think that's it for starters but that's off the top of my head so I could be missing somebody. Offense is going to be fine, I'm less certain about the defense.

Fla's going to bounce back. People are glossing over their injury issues the same way they did ours last year. SC has some serious talent to replace but they have been recruiting well. GA will break in another QB but has material.

My way too early guess is we will be decent somewhere in the middle of that mess.

Ha good point.
POV is interesting.
It actually makes me smile that a bunch of Yankees paying $2k/month to rent space in a closet don't understand the sport I love most. Pro basketball & NHL make me go zzzzzzzzzzzzz so....

I wonder if 4 Florida cities and an Alabama city being in the top 6 has something to do with Florida State and Auburn, Alabama playing in the game?

Or that 7 out of the last 8 BCS Champions have been from that region.

maybe Prison Bitch will let us know what was the top rated program in New York and LA last night, if the national championship wasn't it?

That isn't true although that's where it's most popular. It's also popular in the midwest, & upper midwest. Not so much out west or in the northeast. Those ratings are driven by the teams playing. The largest #'s are always going to be geographically associated with the teams playing.

Anybody comparing really anything to the NFL in terms of popularity's smoking crank. I think the last one of those popularity surveys for Americans I read the had NFL 1 & CFB 2 but the difference was very dramatic and then comparatively nominal from 2 to 3 and so on. I don't remember which sport was 3.
