I hope Im just paranoid, but I just really want this team TO FINALLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY TO STEP THEIR GAME UP....and not fall back AGAIN with another Herm, Romeo, wasted draft pick and endless hopelessness that would ensue.

Clark, I REALLY want to buy my family season tickets, all you have to do is close the deal with Reid and draft Geno McNabb.

I REALLY dont want to box up my Chiefs stuff, but I will.

I'd be fine with the Reid hire if I knew the following. Who does he want at QB, because he's shown questionable taste and his success is built on QBs with mobility, which isn't the QB model I want to be following. And the defense that was in the top 10 seven of 9 years under Jim Johnson has ranked 19, 21, 10, and 29 since Johnson left. What is his defensive identity? And how much say does he have in personnel, because he's not exactly the best judge of talent.

Those are really important questions. It's a good move if it's Reid + Rivera + Heckert. Run for the hills if it's Reid + Bowles or any other project + Reid calling most of the personnel shots.

I would hope is defensive identity is to hire a good DC and let him do his work.

I don't think head coaches are like free agents.

Players chase money, coaches chase the right fit.

I could care less if he gets on that plane.

Why? He would be doing a disservice to himself to not hear everyone out

Yeah, because Barkley is exactly like McNabb and Vick.

What would Reid and his agent's motivation to waste 9 hours on a sham interview?

Yes it was reported that Pioli along with several others were in the room during the interview between Clark and Reid that was around 9 hours.

Clark needed to have Pioli with him if was to be telling the truth. He said he would let the new coach chose the fate of Pioli and how would he be able to do that if he wasnt able to make an educated decision about him from being able to ask him all the questions he would think are pertinent?

I wonder why the interview was in Philly and not KC?

He's hired 3 defensive coordinators in 4 years. All 3 of them were disasters. It's a legit question about how much of Reid's success is from the unbelievably innovative defense of Jim Johnson, just as it's fair to ask how much of Gruden's success was due to the at the time very innovative Tampa 2 of Monte Kiffin.

Reid's recent defensive track record really scares me. As does his QB selection. If we make the hire, the job isn't done. He's got to make two big moves on hiring his DC and picking the right QB for me to be on board.

Drive the price tag up for other suitors.

ILChief 01-02-2013 08:13 PM

Wasn't Todd Bowles well thought of at one time?
