I know, but is that because he finally has his head screwed on straight, or because he's more suited to guard at this point? Because if it's the former, as dismal as the other options are, I think it's worth some consideration.

The only LTs in the league to give up a higher percentage all had under 250 pass block snaps. Larry Borom, James Hudson III, and Joe Noteboom are the next 3, all at over 9%, all backups.

Vederian Lowe, who gets chastised by New England fans, was better at 6.57% and had over 500 PB snaps.

You guys want this turd to be our LT. Talk about diving head first into the shallow end of the pool.

Where is that stat coming from?

I gotta be honest, IDK that there’s many OL stats you can trust. Lot of context gets missed.

The NFL Next Gen stats for example are completely stupid.

Well, to be fair to Cam Robinson-based on the only Vikings game I saw this season, Darnold holds the ball FOREVER.

So I've not seen enough of Robinson to be a fair judge.

How much of that is a product of Sam Darnold holding onto the ball too long?

PFF. Not too many places track and publish OL pressure statistics. While I generally don't approve of most things PFF, such as their grading, they do at least look and see if an OL gave up a sack, hit, etc. I do believe they take QB time to throw into account when assigning these, which somewhat answers FloridaMan's question.

What's bad about Cam is that he was just as bad with Lawrence at QB in Jax. Plus, Darnold might have locked up in the playoffs but he didn't hold the ball forever all season long. He's ****ing horrendous. He's the one player I pray we absolutely do not sign.

I don’t know man, I’m not saying you’re totally wrong because I’d have to watch the film to be fair.

But the little I have seen shows traits better than we’ve had. So the lows would have to be LOW as can be for him to be a bad option.

I agree. I don’t think Robinson is a top 10 tackle. But he is better than what we had last year. And he’s as good at what Alaric Jackson is. So I don’t get the pounding of the table for Jackson and crapping on Robinson

9ers looking to shed even more salary? Does Silverback have a couple more years left in him? Could that be a stopgap for us?

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

Yes. We need a real Left Tackle. Another year of this abysmal getting by play of the front line is not okay.

Oh, and get read of Veach's college friend calling plays.

No indication that’s even a possibility at this point

I think the 49ers could take Burden and plug him into the Deebo role and get every bit the production, if not more.

They can re-load. No need to burn it down.

I was wondering the same thing

seems like a cut candidate

I don't know if he's still good or not tbh, didn't pay much attention to the 49ers except for when they played the Chiefs

Jamie 03-02-2025 03:24 AM

Trent Williams isn't getting cut or traded. The 49ers just redid his contract last year, even if the they wanted to move on (which there are no indications of) the cap implications make it somewhere between highly unlikely and impossible.

The Chiefs are going to have to trade up into the top 20 for him...
