I'm at a loss for words.

ping2000 09-13-2024 08:22 PM

We were told that the team was going to be good. Safe to say they lied.

KC_Connection 09-13-2024 08:22 PM

They’re not winning 6 games with Daniels, but he won’t be benched until November

RaidersOftheCellar 09-13-2024 08:23 PM

WTF was that spot on 3rd down? He clearly had the first down.

Just absolutely ****ed by the refs the entire 4th quarter.

He won't be benched at all.

PHOG 09-13-2024 08:23 PM

Bench him and start anew.

smithandrew051 09-13-2024 08:23 PM

There’s really no point in watching if JD is playing.

Last week should’ve been comfortable. This one should’ve been a laugher.

If JD’s in, then nothing else matters.

Reerun_KC 09-13-2024 08:23 PM

We’re not winning 6 games. They aren’t going bowling. This season is basically over.

Not sure where it went wrong. But time to start developing for next year.

KU has a big QB problem.
As well as an OC problem.

I dont see that changing anytime soon.

After what JD has been through, and his offseason videos and hype - ain't no way he's getting benched.

JD. It’s really that simple.

The play calling hasn’t done him any favors, but he air mailed a wide open slant on third down early in the second half. Perfect play call for an easy throw…he can’t even do that. It doesn’t matter what plays you call for him right now.

He’s broken beyond repair.

Looked like a bad spot but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Daniels isn’t getting them 30 more yards there. They needed to be able to run the ball that drive to have any shot and that went out the window when the coach allowed UNLV to run the entire clock out.

Not so sure. It’s never gonna be an easier path to win the big 12 than this year, and we’re peeing down legs.

KU football and JD are married until next year, unfortunately.

Let's hope Marshall can get the team back to where it needs to be next year.

That’s the thing. They have a built-in excuse to bench him.

Given the patience KU has had with Daniel’s, it’s be a bitch move for him to debunk the “injured” narrative for his benching, and quite frankly, that’s an easy out for Daniel’s too (rather than he just sucks)

Remember the planned Grideron Club expansion in 2008. At least I think that’s what it was called before the program went up in smoke again.

Ominous

BWillie 09-13-2024 08:49 PM

We'll see if there is any player vs coach turmoil. After all the expectations and these results some of the guys are bound to be disgruntled.

Leipold is said to always be a guy that can have a team all have comradery so hopefully he shows we have that going for us, at least.

I guess Koltenicki masked ALOT of QB deficiencies. Probably just made Bean and JD look way better than they are. I have really no idea how JD looks so bad orherwise unless he had a mental injury.

Odd to be disappointed in KU football, but here I am.

arrowheadnation 09-13-2024 09:08 PM

One of the bad parts about college football is this basically means this season is over (minus a meaningless bowl game). At least in other sports, games are important til the end of the season.

Oh well you shouldn’t pull a bengals and get to sneak in somehow due to attrition. Florida State doesn’t deserve another chance. Neither does KU. Punish programs that show up unprepared like Colorado

If basketball did it the same way KU would have a dozen ships

*none of this applies to my favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs

Brandon McAnderson called for Ballard on KU’s radio broadcast today before the last drive.

But if the problem is that Grimes can’t gameplan against a college defense, then the problems unfortunately run much deeper than that.

Grimes has been a disaster, but JD can’t even hit a wide open Grimm on a slant on third down.

Even with the correct play call and perfect execution from the rest of the offense, JD simply can’t physically or mentally do it.

KU technically could still get a spot in the expanded playoff by winning the B12 (a spot is allocated for the champion of it).

Obviously that’s not going to happen with this QB though so there’s not much point in thinking about it at this point. Bowl game almost certainly won’t be happening either unless he’s benched this month.

Back injuries ruin careers, man. That’s my guess.

You know how he keeps attempting that jump pass he did so well through last season and how he seems baffled as it one hops the receiver? That’s the physical part. It saps your lower body strength.

The mental part is where he starts double clutching every throw because he’s not sure he has the juice to make them anymore.

I know you’re right on this. I just want to believe it’s mental. But then you see his throws to the boundary are dogshit and know he’s not there physically. Can’t generate torque

He’s breaking down like ol Glass Joe. Tough to watch your qb go through

Honestly, it’s better if it’s physical. That’s an easy decision.

If it’s mental, you’re tempted to hold on and hope.

I think they’ve looked at least good enough.

JD hasn’t been running for his life. Neal has had plenty of room to work.

Really the whole offense minus JD and Skinner has been good.

I feel bad for Grimm and Arnold that this is the QB play they have to deal with.

He is way too loyal for that but it's obvious the right decision. Z called plays in the bowl game and the offense was fine with Bean. We need to move to Ballard or Marshall and see what we have.

Okay, that sounds better at least.

He still sucks and JD looks broken. I don’t think that speeches are fixing this.

Hopefully, we only give JD one more chance. Then shut him down. Thank him and say that he tried to play through the pain, but just needs more time or whatever.

That gives the coaches cover and makes JD look honorable for trying to play through injury.

City and county will have to give up some money here. Maybe a 1/8c sales tax? The west side is $100M short and they haven’t secured funding for the east side. Yikes.

The rest of us Ad Astra’s will carry you.
