DJ's left nut 09-30-2023 03:29 PM

Said a couple weeks back that I think Wease might be really good.

Fellas I think Theo is really good. And Cooper plus the freshman burner. And Manning next season right? Some weapons on this squad.

My only real complaint? Peat suuuuuuuuuuucks.

As far as Horn playing goes, all I'm telling you is I get where fans were coming from - it's very easy to bag on them now that Cook's played a couple good games. Things looked very different a short time ago. Let's also remember Drink started the wrong QB initially in 2020 (remember Shawn Robinson - Bazelak as bad as he was, was a much better player).

It's all an extension of his mindset. Yes the man does not know how to run an effective division 1-a offense & looked generally clueless as I said many times during his tenure & there are numerous examples, some of which I have listed here.

I think his strength might be as CEO for lack of a better term like Pinkel ran his program. He can clearly recruit. He might be good at hiring assistants. Baker's working. I think Wilks would have had he stayed given the improvement the defense showed the second half of the season he was here & this OC....IDK really yet but it's clearly an improvement.

What has Peat done, in practice or games, to make you think he's earned MORE playing time?

Why in the **** are they wasting a timeout? Wtf?

That was dumb, just take a knee and go into halftime.

Sassy Squatch 09-30-2023 03:37 PM

*sigh* Come on, Drinkwitz. It's shit like that and it happens seemingly every game.

He did it last week too, he refuses to take a knee.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 03:40 PM

The timeout precipitated that near disaster. They have to clean that shit up.

Sassy Squatch 09-30-2023 03:40 PM

Not even that. Save your timeout and have the whole field open. Especially when Vandy is just as likely to call one for you to counter the alignment you initially bring out

Rams Fan 09-30-2023 03:45 PM

Auburn beating to Georgia could make the East wide open.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 04:04 PM

That was an amazing throw by Cook and an even better catch by Burden.

He's had several really nice throws today

Have to admit that Cook has really looked good the last 2 weeks.....and Burden really stepping up hasn't hurt either.

Will make the LSU game interesting next week

I really don't love how we match up, TBH. Hope I'm wrong about that.

Pitt Gorilla 09-30-2023 04:16 PM

Really wish we'd gone for that one. Don't like punting from the 43.

Yeah, I was hoping to see our DL really dominate today and didn't see it. The IOL still doesn't look great either.

Worried about getting wrecked in the trenches.

Precisely. LSU has that advantage on both sides of the ball, which isn't outstanding.

Certainly a good way to get your QB banged up even worse.

Why? Their offense is Daniels and nothing else.

Stop them, don’t give them hope.

I'm not sure we touch him without a blitz. At that point, I really don't like our LBs covering, well, anyone honestly.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 04:25 PM

Really stupid call giving them the ball back.

Don't have to touch him, just need to make him uncomfortable and keep contain.

Pitt Gorilla 09-30-2023 04:25 PM

Case in point.

kepp 09-30-2023 04:26 PM

Exact same situation we had except they went for and gained momentum.

Pitt Gorilla 09-30-2023 04:27 PM

Catch the ball, Luther.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 04:32 PM

Mizzou will play LSU close, they probably won’t win but it will be close.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 04:32 PM

Too many issues in the trenches for Mizzou to be a threat in the East, but I can see them getting to nine wins if the offense can reduce the penalties.

dlphg9 09-30-2023 04:33 PM

Hell of a drive going on. I think the WR group (especially Burden being one of the best in the nation) has really helped Brady Cook. The kid has been just really ****ing good.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 04:39 PM

This team is too mistake prone.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 04:39 PM

Tollison is a complete ****ing moron. That's the second drive he's killed today with his dumbassery.

He has a false start, killed a drive earlier with a whiff on a screen, then blew that play up by snapping it early, which is the second or third time he's done it this year.

He and Cam'ron Johnson need to get the **** out.

If you're not going to block well, you should at least get the snap count right. Of course, our D continues to not cover anyone.

Didn't snap it when the DT came across the line on the hard count.

Then snapped it before his QB was ready.

That's literally as bad a rep as a center can have. And he's been getting wrecked most of the day.

He's as bad an SEC o-lineman as I've ever seen. Just horrible.

There HAS to be someone better to put in.

Best22 09-30-2023 04:52 PM

I thought the receiving corps would get worse with the loss of Lovett, but it’s actually better this year

Mosbonian 09-30-2023 04:52 PM

Dang....that TD'S for Cook today have been darn good throws.

That last one to Johnson and the TD to Burden were dimes.

Jerm 09-30-2023 04:52 PM

Luther making the leap from gadget player to best slot WR in America is huge, and Wease has been excellent.

Lots of weapons.

DJ's left nut 09-30-2023 04:55 PM

Okay goddammit - either send a blitz or to kick some of your defensive linemen in the dick. Getting ZERO pass rush isn't acceptable.

DJ's left nut 09-30-2023 04:55 PM

{sigh}

Pull the starting defense and send a message.

This has not been an acceptable effort level.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 04:56 PM

Charleston has been indescribably bad this year. He gets torched at least twice a week.

They stopped playing.

Defense looked energetic and aggressive until they got to 24-7.

Then they just stopped playing.

This is a valuable wake-up call.

kepp 09-30-2023 05:05 PM

The D better wake up now that the offense has stalled.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 05:08 PM

Someone shut Mason up.

Pepe Silvia 09-30-2023 05:09 PM

Offense has really screwed the pooch late today.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 05:09 PM

Why are they giving Peat carries here?

WhawhaWhat 09-30-2023 05:09 PM

Vandy QB backed up past the pocket and walked into a sack. Mahomes used to do that too.

DJ's left nut 09-30-2023 05:09 PM

Wanna tell me that wasn't an effort issue?

4th down and a 4 man rush just overwhelms the Vandy OL.

They've been capable of that the whole game. They just quit playing.

That's real irritating.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-30-2023 05:10 PM

TRUTHer Burden.
