I have a feeling we are going to make multiple announcements together. AR, Tyreek and Smith deals all announced within an hour or 2 of each other.

Nate Taylor just said on the Athletic (where he’s answering questions) that Za’Darius Smith is who he believes the Chiefs want to sign.

They are looking for a townhome in Lee’s Summit. They will be roommates!

A couple of more answers.

- Believes that the Chiefs sign either Juju or Landry to a moderate deal.

- His gut feelings list when it comes to FAs: Za’Darius Smith, Juju, Landry, Allen Robinson, Kyzir White.

So he thinks we're real players with ALL of those guys? (Not that we'll sign them all but maybe get 2 of them?)

He thinks that he would be surprised if they didn’t sign one of the three (Juju, Landry and Robinson). Believes that Juju has the inside track.

Either way, he’s still better than Randy Gregory today. I don’t think that’s really debatable. Same with Chandler Jones.

But yes, Gregory is younger, and probably cheaper, which is a positive.

It seems to me that Miller’s value now is really for a championship level team—he is almost guaranteed to come up big in playoffs and super bowls. Denver isn’t there now. They need players to get them to the playoffs in the first place. So he’s more valuable for a team like LA.

I actually agree.

But the Chiefs are already a contender, hence why I’m more concerned with who is better today.

I don't see us taking a Dax Hill, for example, after signing Reid.

Wasn’t specific. Just said a rookie.

I did ask about Gladney and he said that he hasn’t heard any interest from the team.

Dax is the one safety you can take.

He can play inside and allow you to move Sneed outside. His versatility combined with Reid/Thornhill/Sneed could give Spags some serious chess pieces. That’s A LOT of speed.

I’d prefer to take somebody like Kaiir Elam that can play on the outside, but the 1st round corners might be gone.

There are definitely some safeties that won’t be first round picks that I like and could see them taking.

I gotta assume Sneed will primarily be a boundary corner for 2022.

Last year the Chiefs really went after K’Waun Williams, a nickel only guy.

They missed out, and Sneed stayed inside, but you really have to wonder if that was always the plan.

That’s exactly why I won’t write off Dax in the 1st.

I wouldn't expect any buzz on Gladney till well after the draft.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. This is a deep draft at a couple of premium positions and safeties tend to get devalued on draft day.

There are a lot of very good versatile safeties in this draft. I can’t imagine Spags not being enamored with the group. I think we take one in the 2nd or 3rd

I think they want to get Smith at DE in FA along with a FA WR. They’ll grab another WR in the draft but it will be later on. Obviously if one they like falls…I could see it happening.

I'm telling y'all - he is a letter perfect addition and at exactly the right stage of his career to outplay the deal.

So the question looms, if the top edge rushers, receivers, and corners are all gone (which honestly feels likely) how could they pass on Dax?

You can start him inside day 1 and get an instant impact while allowing Sneed to move outside, which they flirted with last year.

Long term, he could also be your replacement for Thornhill.

He would also be incredible value at 30.

And we steal him from the Chargers.

Address WR and RT in free agency and go defense heavy in the draft with maybe a RB and offensive line depth drafted in the later rounds.

It's kind of weird to me that there isnt more Gladney smoke.

White and Smith added to the defense along with Reid definitely makes you more athletic.

I think you need 2 more pass rushers though, maybe one in the middle.

We don't really need another highly-drafted LB. We play a lot of nickel and you'll be investing in a position where you'd have a lot of draft resources standing on the sideline.

I could also see LB instead of OT, with an OT coming from free agency.

I mean the top FA S on the market got 70% of what a perennial underachieving WR got. He made almost exactly what Ward made. It's clearly not as highly valued a position.

I just don't think he's even a 'regular' value there - he's...fine. He might be the BPA at that spot but he very easily could not be.

You blitz him, rush the passer, cover the tight end.

Maybe I’m being hyperbolic with “incredible”, but when we talk about “what if all ___ are gone” and we all say “somebody will fall”, in that scenario, if Hill is there, he’s probably that guy.

I mean, maybe it’s Wyatt, and if so that’s obviously better value, but I don’t see it.

The coaches did it last year and brought Nieman in. They obviously don't think either is a good fit.

White and Reid over Niemann and Mathieu is a MASSIVE upgrade in athleticism.

And really, your heavy Nickel is going to bring Bolton off the field and man you have a lot of athleticism there w/ Gay and White.

Regarding an interior pass rusher, I think Rasheem Green is probably your best bet there. He's really an inside/outside sort of player who can line up where you need him. And like I said, I really kind of feel like Bilal Nicols could be a hell of a get, especially if he doesn't cost much more than Nnadi would.

Cameron Thomas or Dax - who you got? Dax or Sam Williams?

Thomas is MUCH higher risk but I also think he's a higher reward player at a more critical position.

I just can't see a scenario where ALL the CBs down to Elam and ALL the edge guys down to Thomas AND Chris Olave/Garrett Wilson (the only obvious 1st round WRs, with Williamson as a dart throw) are off the board.

At some point SOMEONE is going to have to fall from that trio of positions. Or hell, even an OT like Penning.

Of all the positions (sans RB and QB) that I struggle to talk myself into w/ the 1st rounder, S is absolutely the most difficult.

I think the concern with him is injuries with his size and playing style. I’m sure that has something to do with it.

Really good player when healthy though and a good value. Definitely would’ve been the guy to get had we missed on Reid.
