C'mon Lynch! You go kid. I so want him to win the starting job, take reps away from Sanchez, and then when the real bullets fly, show what he really is, a project. A rookie that will make tons of mistakes. By the time they move to buttfumble, it'll be too late. Whaaaaahhhhhhaaaaaaa whaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa

It's fun having a young QB to watch develop and wonder if he'll be starting material some day or not. Been missing that the last few years.

Trevor Siemian looks pretty good too. This year is reminiscent of the DeBerg/Elway/Kubiak situation.

Just close your eyes and tell yourself, "Kelce was 1.1, and Aaron Murray was a bonafide 2nd rounder before the knee".

You're feeling better already!

I noticed this a few weeks ago when rookie mini camps were going on. NFL Network was showing a live feed from Rams camp and Jared Goff looked absolutely lost taking snaps from under center while Paxton looked like he'd been doing it for years.

It's easy to look good in a t-shirt and shorts. Just ask Brodie Croyle.

We'll see how good he looks when the likes of Tamba Hali and Khalil Mack are bearing down on him . . . .

I heard that today was Media Day at the Broncos OTA's and one of the local reporters brought her newborn with her. She had the baby in a papoose thing to keep her hands free and was feeding it chicken wings to keep it quiet (bad idea I think) when it started to choke on one of the chicken wings. Paxton Lynch was doing seven-on-seven work on the other side of the field. He rolled out (to his right) and as he scanned the filed he noticed what was happening and planted a throw right at the base of the baby's spine, Heimliching it. The chicken wing pops up and over the mom without even getting her shirt messy, the ball falls to the ground harmlessly because he was using Perfect Touch, and then he just kept going on with practice. So. Yeah. He pretty much saved a baby's life today. He's a hero. I don't have a link. It was on Twitter.

There is nothing saving that shit franchise this year....enjoy the dungeon.

Elway will be exposed for the chump he is...cant hide behind The Manning Preference anymore.

Horseface is going to try to low-ball Miller....like he did Assfondler. He thinks it's a privilege to play there...but failed to acknowledge without Manning...he's just a blowhard, entitled ex-jock that expects political favors.

Enjoy Stephenson and Okung (coming off shoulder surgery/ missing OTAs) protecting Sanchez.....

That's all fine and dandy, but your good feeling has nothing, NOTHING on the GREAT feeling of having a reliable vet that runs an offense the way Vinnie Appice plays drums.

Or Mark Wahlberg sings.

Hey..keep believing everything you've been told. Better yet...enforce it emphatically in brilliant parrot fashion. Are you serious? Clay could have made that bomb a complete pass. Nobody within 10 yards of him, and his receiver clowned coverage. The receiver, or lack of defense allowed that play to happen.

Knowmo still cries himself to sleep over Brock

#Brocklesberger.

Pasta Little Brioni 05-28-2016 06:53 PM

This cliwn makes Biff look good. Rough years ahead in pile high. You should see this big goofy clown fail away (without slowmos cherry picked bullshit from local homers.) ROFL it's as sad as the Manning cover up from last year. OMG HE IS BAAAAACK . (one clip of him hitting a guy with no one near him in shorts. Ignoring the other 99 ducks.)

Tombstone RJ 05-28-2016 07:02 PM

Brock is gone, it's gonna be real interesting to see how he does in Houston. Broncos moving forward with a vet, a rook and a developmental QB.

How about some contested 50+ yard bombs?

How about a demonstration of deep ball accuracy outside of the hash marks? Neither of those are very difficult throws when you have that arm strength.

You're not showing anything we don't know about Lynch. He has a huge arm and really good, but not great, mobility.

Does the have it mentally? You could point to Marino/McNabb/Kelly all you want, but that 18 on the Wonderlic is worrisome (scared me off pre-draft), and this is a different time. The learning curve from college to the NFL for a QB isn't the same as it was back then. Also, can he throw with anticipation? Can he throw with accuracy and good ball placement?

All of those are the question marks that need to be answered.

Sweet Daddy Hate 05-29-2016 12:54 PM

My God, it's like watching an actual offense.

Those are great throws. No denying that. But, you can do the same with plenty of guys that turned out to be shit like Geno though. A few great throws doesn't tell the entire story. It's the full body of work.

I've watched Paxton extensively and all of those question marks are legit. He hasn't answered them yet.

The fact that you so easily dismiss that shit Wonderlic score as a concern is hilarious. That's always a red flag when talking about the QB position. There are exceptions to that rule, but that doesn't mean Lynch is one.

Geno sucks BC he has an attitude problem and can't grasp the game mentally.
Lynch has a great attitude with elite physical attributes but he needs to sit for a year to learn the game more. If he plays now he'll have to run a dumbed down offense and he'll get killed by blitz packages.

The second part is a huge red flag that could be Lynch's downfall as it appears the mental aspect could be an enormous obstacle for him. Even if he's a ****ing choir boy, it won't matter, if that's the case. Sitting and learning doesn't guarantee that will ever change either, though it could.

Has there ever been a proven link between a high wonderlic score and success in the NFL?

I don't know but I DO know that there is absolutely NO correlation between a high intelligence and awesomeness at the position.

If you don't think it's important, or translates, for QB's, you're a fool.

Like I said, there are exceptions to every rule, but it's a pretty good indicator of what to expect (mentally) from a QB. Marino/McNabb/Kelly are examples of some exceptions, but like I pointed out, they came into the league when the learning curve wasn't as much of an obstacle. Lynch has a lot more to learn (and adjust to) than those guys ever did, so the mental part is all the more concerning. There aren't many recent examples of exceptions, so I think the evidence backs that up.

I saw an interview with Lynch, thought he sounded like an idiot, then looked up his Wonderlic and saw he got an 18. That's not a coincidence.

So yea, if you think how smart a QB is matters, then there is a correlation.

So obviously you think it's important but otherwise, is there any proof that a high score is more indicative of a successful career in the NFL?

I edited my post to further explain.

History says the Wonderlic is a good measurement for the mental part of the QB position.

Yep, there's some great players who were pretty dumb, not sure if that's the case for QBs.

Terry Bradshaw is pleased to hear you say so. Not that the offense he ran was anywhere near as complex as today's pro O.

Being so much smarter than everyone else must be such a burden for him.

Do you see Brett Favre or John Elway conducting civil engineering courses?

Yeah, me neither.

Yep, the complexity of the offense has changed for sure. That said, most coaches tend to stay within a particular comfort zone, running variations on a theme.

Is Cam Newton's score of 21 significantly higher? I'd wager his emotional maturity score is significantly lower than Lynch's.

I would argue his physical skills are mile ahead, and coming out of the SEC to win championship would be pretty hard for you to compare Lynch to.....

You're saying his low score is overcome by his physical skills?
