There's a shot they take a CB early, but my guess is no earlier than pick 95.

I think it's VERY likely going to be DL or OL, with a small chance it's a RB/CB/WR. Maybe a LB if Jihaad Campbell somehow fell.

Edwards completely slipped my brain. I went through a phase where I felt Nick Emmanwori would be the prototypical safety for a Spags defense, but I can't see us moving up for him.

Sticking with my "want a receiver, expect a d-lineman" thought.

You don't change draft plans because of a depth JAG like Mike Edwards.

I could see them taking Starks.

I don't see a 1st round CB.

Burden wouldn't shock me at all. I feel like they will REALLY like what he can bring to the table.

I agree that it shouldn't.

But Veach didn't even mention S as a possibility in the 1st, and he did mention CB. I don't think it's a coincidence that the positions he didn't mention were QB, IOL, S, LB, and RB.

They just don't seem to value the position too highly, and they have what is arguably a full room. I can see them adding one, but I don't think it will be in the 1st. I think CB is more likely.

I also don't think Starks is going to make it to 31 anyways, but like I said with Campbell, sure that would at least be a possibility if he fell. Still don't think they're taking either position and both guys are gone.

Bart Varch couldn't be more different than all of his predecessors. He plays one hell of a game of poker. Not a sole knows his hand, but he plays itbetter than anybody has at One Arrowhead Drive. He's always a canidate to move up, and I'm sure they've played a hundred scanarios of how they're going to handle multiple situations. I guarantee he's already called half a dozen (or more) GM's around the league of compensation if we want to move up or down. Every year we think we have it figured out, and he throws a curveball (Mahomes over Watson). He hits far more frequently than misses and as a result, keeps us as a legit top contender year after year

Just not seeing them trade Smith at this point. First, there is no FA's you can spend the 22 million on. Second, it would open up another hole in the line and 3rd it would need to be done prior to the draft and that team would need to make sure Smith is going to sign long term. So really it would need to happen like yesterday. I do not see Smith being an easy contract.

Just a few years ago, we traded for Orlando brown Jr. He didn’t sign a long term deal immediately after the trade. I could see us trading Trey smith and the team signing him long term later. We need more draft capital and I don’t want to pay a guard like Trey smith big money.

Hope it doesn’t happen but I’m expecting them to take him if he’s available

Who is going to be their QB though?

Andy pretty much said so at his last presser how good he looked at guard.

Any names worth moving up for?

I think a team may take someone on the last year of a rookie deal, like he was. At least you are getting 1 year of a bargain. Tag him the next the next year still a bargain over 2 year span. Smith you are paying top dollar the very first year, and be hard pressed to to tag him for year 2 and RG is not a premium position like LT. Think he would be a tough trade and even a tougher trade if you do not think you can lock him up for 4 years.

We don't NEED to do anything but land 4 good football players.

Veach is gonna trade out. Nobody is going to trade up.
