For the second week in a row, all across the nation. This is nuts.

Encountered freezing fog down here in Northern Texas. Nasty stuff. They blocked the highway completely off by Sherman.

Freezing fog sounds like an unholy alliance of Stephen King’s The Fog and the White Walkers from Game of Thrones.

Didn't get more than an inch from the weekend storm. Just mostly ice, but last night we got about 5 inches here in southwest MO. Made a snowman with the girls today. Little shits have been on 3 weeks now. They were supposed to go back Tuesday.

We always make fun of those that freak out with 2 inches of snow. But we know those people are at a massive disadvantage compared to us in the north

We use salt. It lowers the freezing point of water and makes roads drivable. Even after the roads dry out, there is a layer of salt that forms on the roads and stays for the next snow fall. When it is 30 below, the road salt makes a nice white film.

We have plows. A LOT OF PLOWS. My city's snow plow drivers are crazy good. So are a lot of them across the state. They put in long days when it snows.

We experience it a lot and are used to it.

We buy 4wd, AWD and some cars still put on snow tires.

Smart people know when to stay home.

Truth. I remember being on I35 in a sleet/snow mix. We cruised through KS following the snow plow and traffic immediately came to a halt at the OK border. The interstate was covered in hard packed ice and they were trying to clear it with maintainers. They didn't have any plows or salt.

Yep, I have been driving on crappy winter roads all my life, starting with a two wheel drive pickup, with sand bags in the back of the bed to add weight. That was an adventure. At this point, I put dedicated studded snow tires on my 4x4 Duramax in the winter. With the clearance and those tires, it will go anywhere.

Plus Torque if you have to plow through a drift or dig in some slush or something.

Your dude here has wound some engines pretty hard in snow...
