Watching the community eat itself over whether they believe him or her is gut wrenching.

I'll stick to CO.

That's not unique to Iowa. Most small towns are like that, especially in the midwest.

There's nothing to do but gossip and fight.

My only hope for happiness is some weird CP commune.

We'd need to locate in a place we could grow our own weed. That's definitely NOT Iowa.

Yep. People that don't live here don't understand how many hispanic communities there are here. I live 25 minutes from Marshalltown and it's not uncommon to hear nothing but Spanish when you're there.

Iowa, a Midwestern U.S. state, sits between the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. It’s known for its landscape of rolling plains and cornfields. Landmarks in the capital, Des Moines, include the gold-domed, 19th-century State Capitol Building, Pappajohn Sculpture Park and the Des Moines Art Center, noted for its contemporary collections. The city of Cedar Rapids' Museum of Art has paintings by native Iowan Grant Wood.

Northwest Iowa is Dutch country (like Pella) and all the packing plants are centered in SXC. It really comes down to the local economy.

I had a junior golf tournament in Orange City and I was mind blown. I got there at 7am and everyone was outside walking around. Having sex on top of tulips making babies with their one significant other in their wooden ****ing shoes, named Van something or some shit.

But it was really strange, they were early risers.

I grew up in Sioux City from 11 to 18 years old and can attest to this. South Sioux City - while in Nebraska - is quite a hispanic hub.

Marshalltown has been that way for some time. Was 20 years ago when I taught in Union.

If you like small town life, cold weather, and expensive windows you’ll love it.
