Chris Polian from Indy or Eric DeCosta from Baltimore.

In this case, if the unnamed sources are currently employed in any type of a football capacity by the Browns, the unnamed sources have a very keen interest in doing anything they can to avoid the arrival of a guy who’d come in and fire whoever needs to be fired.

And as to the notion of the Browns wanting to force the issue, one of our readers pointed out Wednesday that the Browns went down this same path ten years ago, when they wanted a quick answer from Brian Billick — and got Chris Palmer instead.

So just as Billick landed in Baltimore, the Browns could be pushing Pioli into the arms of the Chiefs.

Maybe Clark is the nnamed source:D

According to Cleveland's newspaper Pioli is going to go ahead and talk to Clark so I guess we will find out in short order which is true. I really hope the Chiefs don't get used by Pioli to sweeten his deal with the dumb ass Browns.

like we've never been used before... we are the NFL's horny brunette in the bar. Always used.

I hope so. I also hope Pioli doesn't land a ridiculous contract that raises the bar for GM contracts.

There's also Doug Whaley and Kevin Colbert from the Steelers.

Who we could have interviewed this week, as they were on a bye - and didn't.

Telling?

That's true, and I hadn't thought of that.

Not as a GM candidate, that I can recall.

You might be thinking of Jim Schwartz, the DC, who may get a HC job.

There was speculation about Floyd Reese, who was with the Titans a couple of years ago.

Hunt could talk to him at any time, so I doubt he's really a consideration.

Thank goodness.

Bottom line of the Rose Bowl just stated the Cleveland Plain Dealer says Pioli is not on a deadline.

BigChiefFan 01-01-2009 04:22 PM

I like Pioli, but in reality he's a better fit in Cleveland. They already have the 3-4 installed there and have had Crennel attempting to emulate Bellichek's game-plan anyway. I can see them landing Pioli and then going heavily after Mangini.

nychief 01-01-2009 04:26 PM

I just want Pioli to get an interview with Clark...

Yeah, I found a list of potentials on NFL.com:
