Mizzou finishes at #5 in football in both polls. Second top 5 finish in the last 7 years.

SEC teams occupy 4 of the top 7 spots. 7 SEC teams finish the season ranked.

It was a good college football season overall. Good season for Mizzou as well. 12 wins, and a good Cotton Bowl win. I would have loved to see Mizzou against FSU, even if it meant a loss. The best 2 teams made the championship game though.

Can't wait until March when basketball season starts.

Probably right.

Nice winning a glorified BCS game. Primeime nationally televised. Better coverage than the fruit bowl to boot.

Terrible numbers for the Cotton Bowl.

It doesn't compare at all the Orange.

Shits about to get real. We have the young talent that got some experience this year.

I think the thing about Mangino is that he got a lot more production out of his roster than the overall talent level would show. Of that team he got to finish in the top 10 one year there were... what, two players who ever saw any real PT in the NFL? The stars all aligned for him that season in terms of the schedule but he did a lot with a little.

Cotton Bowl was a snoozefest until the 4th quarter. The people that were still watching were Mizzou and Ok St fans or people that fell asleep with the TV on while watching that game.

The article even stated that unlike previous years it was matched directly opposite with the orange bowl, hence the possible lower viewership since the 2009 cotton bowl...try reading the articles you link.

uhhhhh, that's completely the point.

PGM attempted to disparage the Orange by somehow saying it was in less demand than the Cotton.

The two were shown head to head and a clear cut winner was determined.

I have no idea, I didn't watch the game, Friday night is a terrible night to show a sporting event. Not sure why the Cotton Bowl thought this was a good idea. But based on the highlites I saw it looked like a fun game.

The Cotton even had the advantage of network TV and still lost. I'm glad to hear that for the Orange, they were saddled with several awful matchups the past few years, they deserved a good game at the end of the BCS era and got it.

Ohio State & Clemson are both bigger names than Missouri & Oklahoma State. Doesn't surprise me or diminish our bowl for me anyway. It's too bad they were on at the same time as I would have liked to have been able to watch both games.

I was going to post the ratings disaster for the Cotton myself until you beat me to it. Don't bother arguing with these nitwits about it, they'll never admit the Orange Bowl is a much bigger deal. It's too painful for them.

Good season by Mizzou. It's probably the high point. ESPN's projected top-25 for next year does not include them.

I wouldn't have posted it if it hadn't had been for that moron PGM.

He can't even enjoy his team's win without having KU in his head.
