Exactly. And chipping, putting, pitches are the funnest shots of all.

I think chipping and putting should be illegal. Once you hit the green, if you get it within 10 feet, it's a zero. Within 15 feet it's a one. Just on the green two. That is the sole reason why I never was a real great player.

BTW, anybody know a nice course in the KC Metro area that has cheap all day golf w/ a cart? Have the day off tomorrow. Think I'm gonna wack it around a bit.

I like the way you think.

Ah, BellaVista. 3 feet inside of Arkansas.

That is far enough inside of that state. It does have a few nice courses though. The Highlands and BVCC are my favorites there. John Daly is currently playing in a Nationwide event at Hardscrabble.

The elephant in room about Pebble Beach: poa annua greens.

The shit is just noxious. It grows at an incredibly high rate, and extremely unevenly. It also seeds very easily.

It makes luck far more important in putting greens than it is on any other surface.

The moderate climate of the Monterrey Bay allows it to thrive. You can find it on a lot of local courses in the spring, but the summer heat kills the rat shit out.

Yep.

My FIL was asking why so many putts were bouncing yesterday.

To me, I can't consider Pebble the best of the best when it comes to courses because of those greens.

The views are as good as it gets, and the layout is fantastic, but the greens are among the worst on tour, if not the worst.

It's not an accurate test of golf.

Tiger finished at +4.

Phil just birdied the hardest hole on the course to go +3.

3,4, and 7 are birdie holes.

You need to be able to play those holes about -5 for the week.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 03:26 PM

And Philly Mick pours one into the heart from 10 feet on 3. Great approach from the fairway bunker.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 03:42 PM

Phil is dropping the ****ing hammer out here. Birdies 2 (near impossible), then 3 and 4.

3 under through 4 holes.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 04:16 PM

Mickelson is now -4 through 6 holes, bringing himself back to even for the tournament.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 04:42 PM

If Mickelson pars the 9th, he'll shoot 30 on the front.

A mother****ing 30.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 04:44 PM

Seriously, this is GOD MODE.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 05:00 PM

Well, Mickelson just bogeyed 9, one of the hardest holes on the course. Cards a 31, and he's the only guy on the course under par for his round.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-18-2010 05:35 PM

Mickelson made an easy par on 10 and birdies 11 to play 8-11 -1.

That's a fabulous stretch of golf.
