At this point the nightmare sceanrio is Chargers get Nabers, Bengals get Mitchell, Bills get Thomas and someone like the Texans get Franklin and Baltimore gets Worthy.

That would be...sub-optimal. Because as much as I like Wilson, Pearsall etc I think they represent a drop-off

If that happens then a good LT, CB, TE, DT, DE etc are likely to be on the board. We can then hopefully grab a wideout in the second round onwards. Going by your list Coleman, Leggett, Corley, Walker, Ladd, Polk, Baker etc would be an option. I don't think we should take a wideout in the first round just becuase others have tbh. If one of the very top guys are there then fine, do it. If not then pivot and be patient.

It depends who they draft.

Franklin and Worthy project as Vertical 2 Decoys.

Of course Worthy could be a Nagy gadget slot and break after catching a few passes over the middle.

I would like us to draft a #1 WR because we don't seem interested in ever paying for one in FA.

We HAVE a #1 receiver. That will easily, barring injury, be a 1000 yard guy.

I’m not opposed to it

Nowadays 1,000 yards isn’t necessarily all that impressive. I’d hope for 1,200-1,300 from a #1 WR with Mahomes.

Glad you mentioned that. If you extrapolate Rice's second half of the season -which coincides with his taking the bulk of the snaps, you see exactly that - a 1300 yard receiver.

I could see Chiefs taking Mitchell or McConkey in the first round, whichever the Bills dont take.

Hoooboy! I'm just catching up, got up to the mountain yesterday.

Worthy, Mitchell, and Thomas Jr really killed it in the 40! Everybody's talking bout Mitchell, congrats to him, but how about Thomas Jr!? Dude ran that 40 easy!

Here's a guy no one's said anything about, J. Wilson!? His numbers are pretty surprising. Dude's the Victor W of the NFL?

McConkey, McCaffrey, and especially Coleman looked awesome in the Gauntlet drill! No qualms with Coleman's 40, his size and play speed are pro level IMO.

Franklyn, Legette, Walker, and Washington all performed really well too!

So many great options in this draft! 2nd round will be stacked!

Now give him another offseason...

McConkey would be such a weird pick at 32.

On one hand, I would be underwhelmed, because it's not an exciting pick whatsoever.

On the other hand, I'd be extremely confident that Pat has another reliable weapon that will be absolutely fantastic on 3rd down and in the RZ.

Couch-Potato 03-03-2024 11:17 AM

Xaveir Worthy only 6 deep balls all season, 22 screen catches, is concerning to me.

Seems like a very high floor pick.

Can’t really argue with that too much. Just getting competent receivers who catch the ball makes us better. We don’t need stars, as great as it would be to have a couple more.

Good break down here...

Get your LT first. Then get McConkey with the top 50 pick you got for Sneed.
