Watkins' career catch % is 55%. That's not a good number for someone as physically gifted as Watkins. Watkins' yards/game have declined from 80.5 yards/game in 2015 to 53.8 yards/game in 2016 to 39.5 yards/game in 2017. I don't see a lot of evidence that Watkins will turn his career around in KC when he couldn't turn his career around with the Rams. Of the 4 2014 WRs, I'd say Richardson would be the best bargain for the Chiefs offense.

Let's be honest, if Watkins had had just one down year, he probably wouldn't be a free agent now. And if he was a free agent, he probably would garner a very big contract and the Chiefs couldn't compete with some other teams with more salary cap.
I see it as a great buy low opportunity. Obviously he wouldn't come for cheap but possibly for a reasonable deal and I think it could pay off big time as he has great potential but obviously injury risk as well.
If he remains pedestrian and puts up around 500 yards a year, which would really surprise me, it isn't as if we would be counting on him to be our no. 1 receiving option, as we have Kelce and Hill.
I think he would be a great get really but we are facing competition for his services for sure.
