Went on a wine-tasting tour on easter. I was surprised by three things.
1. I didn't know there were so many wineries in Virginia.
2. Some of the wine was really good.
3. An inordinate number of the wineries we visited grew Italian grapes.

I'm not kidding- I was in Virginia for the last couple of weeks.

I've just recently gotten into wine. I've yet to come to appreciate anything dry or not sweet.

Well, I much prefer beer but I worked at a white linen Italian restaurant and bar for a number of years that sold tons of wine so I have a working knowledge of the basics. I definitely don't get into the whole uppity disection of it though I can fake it fairly well.
