He actually did a pretty decent job this series. He pulled all his starters at the right times, and his bullpen choices were largely defensible.

I actually think that this was his finest hour for a few reasons:

1) The way that he tried to settle Rosenthal down last night shows that he knows his player pretty well

2) The way that he settled Yadi down after Gonzalez tried to act like he was born again hard.

I still can't believe Mattingly decided to have Dee Gordon, Jacob Turner, and Carl Crawford bat over Puig in that spot. My head would have exploded.

Also, Kershaw's day shows why you can't live off of breaking balls three times through a lineup. That's a hard pitch to throw perfectly 50 times and no pitch in baseball gets hit harder than a fat breaking pitch.

No way Matheny would have done that. Matheny will stick with his players no matter what. Look at Craig this year. Hit .200 all year. Still was going to play him the rest of the year. Had to trade him to take him out of Matheny's lineup.

I too didn't notice anything particularly egregious in this series. Even the questionable decisions were defensible.

My head exploded and I don't give a shit about the Dodgers. I can't imagine what their fans are thinking and feeling. If he isn't fired for that, it's just stunning.

Another *gasp* Royals fans saying congrats to the Red Birds. I'd gladly see you guys win over any team from LA.

And who's the dude throwing the "suck it" on that gif that is pix-elated up there? Throwing the suck it is one of my all time favorite ways to tell someone I owned them. He might be my new favorite Card.

AJ.

Waino with elbow issues.

Is Lynn/Lackey/Miller enough?

Mr. Flopnuts 10-07-2014 08:48 PM

So we're all hoping for SF/Wash to go 5 games right?

As long as the Giants win. I want HFA. Plus some revenge for 2012.

I'm watching the Giants/Nats game and LaRoche just made an extremely bone head play. I would much rather play the Nats because the Giants are like a mirror image of us.

Nats would be pissed and want revenge. They were 3 outs from winning. 3 run lead. We come back for the win and take the series. Crushed some hope and dreams in DC.

The Dodgers wanted revenge also. I just do not like the way we match up with the Giants. Their clutch factor could be even better then ours.

And Bruce Bochy is damn good manager unlike Mattingly or Williams.
