Throwing off a bad ankle to a yet to be familiar in gametime target. Brings the frustration of frustration to frustration

You don't? Did you see him totally **** up that wide open sideline catch? He's a work in process. Reminds me of Hardman.

Yes, that one was bad, but he's an elite speed guy that tracks the ball well.

They need to keep taking the deep shots.

Dude was absolute ass last night. Literally no situational awareness to not even know to get his feet inbounds and then run right into the defender on the reverse.

ASS. AT this point last year when Rice was a rook, was when everyone was noticing that he was figuring out zones and soft spots and the chemistry was starting. Right now Worthy looks like ass.

There's a lot more to being a great NFL WR than speed. Coaches and GMs just cannot overlook these speedsters. Even minds like Veach and Reid get sucked into it. Al Davis was obsessed by it as well when pursuing WRs. The Raiders would always draft fast WRs who couldn't do anything else but run a straight line.

I'd trade Worthy's speed for attributes like awareness, more size, and better hands.

But yes, he's a rookie so it's too early to pronounce him Mecole Hardman or Skyy Moore. If Hollywood Brown can come back, that should free up Worthy a lot more.

I still hold out hope for the guy. He just needs to connect the dots as far as field awareness. I hope he turns out to be a strong asset for us at some point and earns Pat's trust.

Rashee didn’t start putting it together until around Thanksgiving. It takes time.

Last night Worthy was ass but it’s mental stuff, not ability

FloridaMan88 11-05-2024 09:33 AM

Rice was the exception last year… generally rookie WR’s struggle in Andy’s offense.

Tyreek as a rookie was more of a gadget player, and not a starting WR.

Worthy will be fine.

staylor26 11-05-2024 09:40 AM

A lot of reeruned takes after a rough couple of weeks for the rookie. Going to look real stupid when those deep shot start hitting consistently.

Nah - Rice was showing growth every week. We just weren't emphasizing him in the route progression.

Worthy's actually regressed. Maybe that's harsh, but at worst he certainly hasn't gotten better.

I'm not writing him off by any stretch and his speed DOES make a difference even when he's playing poorly. But let's not try to sugarcoat things with Xavier. He's been pretty damn bad and seemingly getting worse.

Sassy Squatch 11-05-2024 09:45 AM

LMAO The fastest guy in combine history isn't going to fall to the end of the first without some serious development needed.

Bl00dyBizkitz 11-05-2024 09:45 AM

Give it time, and be happy we have DHop and don't have to rely heavily on Worthy yet.

That said, Worthy needs to soak up as much knowledge from DHop while he has the chance.

Not sure I’d say last week in Vegas was a regression but SF and TB games were really bad for him.

That sideline gaff was really bad. Situational awareness has to be there. Come back to the ball if you are on the sideline.

Honestly he looked lazy on that play. Andy looked enraged after that play too so I think he was thinking the same thing

WRs that need "serious development" generally aren't drafted in the first round by smart GMs.
