"Your division sucks" doesn't mean a lot when your team would be bringing up the rear in any FBS conference

KU fans made exactly one post in the football thread yesterday. Jack Harry may have been right about something for the first time in his life when he said they should shut down the football program.

Were you around when they were actually decent in Football? Every game got the ****OFFICIAL KU VS LIPSCOMB**** thread treatment.

There have only been a handful of fans that have discussed the football program on this board through the good and the bad years.

I don't think KU's football program should be shut down. They obviously can be a respectable program with the right coach and resources as evidenced by the Mangino days, but the university has to make finding the right coach a priority. They have colossally ****ed up that decision since they fired Mangino.

If KSU runs the table they SHOULD get an invite to the playoff and rightfully deserve it. The Big 12's top half is solid so if anyone runs that conference table they deserve it.

Right, I think they would get an invite. Highly improbable that they run the table, though.

I can see them winning 1 out of the next 3 road games (TCU, Baylor, WVU). That should be enough to get them a share of the Big XII title, which i'd be cool with.

Sucks that those are all on the road...if it was 2 of 3 at home, probably a different story.

I was talking to my Nebraska buddy about this and its great that there is an emphasis on national championships and playoffs now, but winning your conference, etc. are big accomplishments that are hard to pull off. So even if the playoff becomes something not available to KSU winning the conference is huge.

Playoffs are a pipe dream with only 4 teams qualifying. An 8 or 16 team playoff makes it more of a realistic goal, but IMO that makes the regular season not as dramatic and exciting, and really lessens the value of a conference title and/or bowl games.

I think if KU shuts down their program, KSU and Mizzou should shut down all their programs since they have zero shot to ever win a title. Seems pointless for all involved really.

Besides if KU football went away, Gary Pinkel woudln't have anything left to talk about in the offseason.

Saul Good 11-02-2014 10:35 AM

Midway through the conference season, and the KU football thread gets one post on game day. They don't deserve a football team.

Your involvement in this thread is pointless.

I kind of like the 6 team playoff with the #1 and #2 seeds getting buys, but who knows...agreed with it diluting the regular season and conference championships though once you creep up higher on the playoff teams.
