Yep, I said the same thing the other night

Former #1 receiver with a bad rep for being space brained and fragile shows up on new team, and immediately becomes a major difference maker... its the Sammy story all over again

Kadarious Watkins. Waste of picks.

I would pay a 3rd and a 6th for what Sammy gave the Chiefs. He was huge in the playoffs.

This big difference between Toney and Watkins is that Watkins was already paid and got lazy. Toney on the other hand is trying to earn his big contract. He’s a smart, he’ll be back. Give ole Rick Burkholder some time.

Soft tissue injuries just seem to be a thing for guys. I dunno why, seems either you have issues with them continually once you start or you never do.

Being injury prone =/= lazy. When he could play he was very good and he was great in the SB run.

Well, he's got visits lined up with the Cowboys, Giants and Bills. So apparently not as much as those guys.

I’ve been told and read that we are still actively pursuing him and have been in contact with his agent as recently as less than a week ago. Veach 100% has interest in signing him.

ToxSocks 11-30-2022 04:14 PM

Hrmmmm.

Which would we rather be true?

Toney faked his injury with NYG and has always been healthy, thus character concerns

or

Toney is a good character guy with injury issues?

Not backing or disputing, but I will say that if Veach gets a boner over a guy, it tends to linger (See: Juju & Toney as recent examples.)

We were in on OBJ last season.

Mecca 11-30-2022 04:24 PM

He had hamstring problems playing for the Giants who play on a terrible field...then he got hurt in LA once again on a terrible field.

Watkins already had an injury history with one of his feet before he ever signed with Chiefs and then he got another foot injury in 2018, his first season with KC.

Calling Watkins lazy is wrong.

You must have completely forgotten 2019 week 1 at Jacksonville. Watkins did a lot to get as fit as possible and he was in peak form and had an amazing game.

Watkins put in the work, he still got dinged.

Yeah this was more fun when we assumed he was faking shit to get off the Giants.

I would rather he was faking his injury because he wanted to escape from NYC and play for a future HOF QB.

He hadn't been getting many snaps for the Bears until last Sunday. These are his snaps by week

26 snaps (35%)
19 snaps (31%)
29 snaps (42%)
38 snaps (67%)

In that first week he had 6 targets, but only 2 catches. The 2nd week Justin Fields on threw it 20 times, the 3rd week he threw it 21 times and then in the 4th week when he got his most snaps he had Trevor Siemian throwing him the ball and he led the team with 51 yds.

He hasn't had much of a chance to show his skills and then when he does he has Trevor Siemian throwing him the ball or less accurate Lamar Jackson as his QB. The Bears also have the least passing attempts and yards in the entire NFL. He doesn't have much of a chance in Chicago. Hell no one would.

This doesn't really sound like the Chiefs are interested at all.

To me it seems like KC hasn't even reached out with an offer.
