So we've gone from Pioli was in ATL because he set up those interviews before getting neutered to he's in Philly because nobody knows the team like he does.

Yeah, that was a money deal. Haley's ego got in the way of Weis staying. Haley was bitting off more than he could chew as was Pioli. The problem with the Chiefs lately has been Ego's.. something that Clark is fixing.

Matt Cassel/Brady Quinn/tyler palko?

What about Joel Collier who is the Assistant GM?

The guy who gets Pioli's coffee? No, it needs to be the control freak himself in my estimation.

Chiefs are loaded with talent, and have a shit ton of cap space. Thats a good job by the GM. Coaching has been a problem, and thats something Pioli isn't going to be controlling anymore. Good coach and good QB, this is a good team.

I have faith in Clark delivering Reid and Geno.

Pretty similar to great OC/DC's not being good HC's. Pioli does some things well, he just can't do it all.

Like I said, I've had several people in the room during interviews that I don't turn to for their opinion on a hire. Those people are there for informational purposes. Its not dissimilar from a standard ol' business deal - I want people in the room that can answer questions before I ultimately make a decision.

He was there - that's all we know. That, in a vacuum, means absolutely nothing. If I'm Clark and I've chosen this route, then I'd have had him in there as well. If nothing else, an extra voice will often get me to look at a different angle or provide an idea for an additional question/comment.

Don't panic just yet. There will be plenty of time for that later.

Would you have your prior superior in the room, the same individual whom you've likened to Pioli?

Hunt-Reid meeting adjourned after approximately 9-hours around 7 PM ET. Reid still scheduled to fly to AZ tomorrow. #Chiefs

Essentially Pioli will most likely have to accept a reduced roll and do what Reid says if he says with #chiefs stay tuned!

Pioli is pretty good at the GM job.

You know why everyone hates him? Because his ****ing teams finished last 3 out of 4 years. He can't find a QB or a coach and he can't draft for shit.

But yeah, we all hate him because he's an asshole.

If he won, found a QB, I don't care if he told my mother to **** herself with a broom handle and he mooned my grandmother.

Sweet ****ing christ.

It's the same guy that picks the Clones to do big things every year, so it's probably not even HIS worst post. Steele Jantz for Heisman!!!

Marcellus 01-02-2013 07:09 PM

My guess is Clark is keeping Pioli close to his side because he doesn't want him out of his sight until the coach thing is done.

Imagine if Pioli was back in KC on the phones stirring up shit in the background making it hard for Clark to hire a guy?

If he is in the room with him, he knows where he is and what he is doing.

Have no problem with him not being officially fired, yet. Have a serious problem with him being a part of the traveling circus that's interviewing candidates.

Sassy Squatch 01-02-2013 07:09 PM

****. Shouldnt have let him leave.

Hearing that IF Reid is hired, he will make the final call on future of Pioli. #chiefs

Wow.

If they don't get him, it's not from a lack of trying.

I can't say I've heard of an NFL interview going 9 hours. I've heard of some going 5-6, but never this long.

Certainly isn't a bad sign.
